Job Overview:
- The Data Collection Coordinator will play a critical role in managing and overseeing data collection processes to support SELCO Foundation’s projects and initiatives.
- This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- The Data Collection Coordinator will work closely with field teams, stakeholders, and project managers to ensure effective data gathering and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Data Collection Management and Coordination - Plan and develop strategies for collecting data based on M&E requirements and objectives.
- Assist in onboarding field agencies and enumerators.
- Coordinate with the program team and implementation partners.
- Oversee the completion of deliverables and payments to stakeholders.
- Manage and coordinate data collection activities with agencies and field enumerators, ensuring adherence to timelines and protocols.
- Administer surveys, interviews, and other data collection methods.
B. Training - Develop training strategies and materials.
- Conduct training for data collection team members to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Identify training needs through data gaps and address them effectively.
C. Data quality check - Implement quality control measures to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
- Ensure data collected meets standards for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and address discrepancies.
- Report data quality gaps with data quality agencies or field enumerators.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality guidelines.
D. Troubleshoot Data Collection Issues - Address challenges or issues during data collection and find solutions to ensure smooth operations and data quality.
- Respond to data-related inquiries or issues raised by stakeholders.
E. Data Analysis and documentation Support - Collaborate with data analysts to ensure effective data analysis that contributes to project objectives.
- Assist in compiling, summarizing, and generating insights and recommendations based on collected data.
- Support the dissemination of data findings to relevant parties.
- Maintain accurate records of data collection processes and methodologies for future reference.
- Ensure all data documentation is complete, up-to-date, and securely stored.
F. Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement in data collection processes and suggest enhancements to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work, Social entrepreneurship, economics, management, demography, or other relevant social science or management field that includes statistical training and research methods
- 5-7 years of experience in field data collection management in the social development sector.
- Knowledge of renewable energy or sustainable development sectors.
- In-depth understanding of field data collection, data quality, and M&E systems.
- Familiarity with data collection methodologies, including quantitative and qualitative.
- Strong knowledge of data collection tools, including digital platforms such as Survey CTO, Survey Solutions, Kobo, and CSPro.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Multilingual abilities in languages relevant to SELCO Foundation’s operational areas, such as
- English, Kannada, Hindi, Odiya, Assamese, Manipuri, will be an advantage.
- Experience in managing study teams, data collection, and data management.
- Willingness to participate in field activities/surveys and travel to remote areas within the region.
- Familiarity with data privacy and protection regulations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capability to service clients and perform under deadline pressure.
