About Us

Key Education Foundation (KEF) is a not-for-profit organisation that works to improve the quality of Early Childhood Education (ECE) for children.

Our mission is to ensure quality early childhood education for children by empowering institutions, educators, and parents toward ensuring systemic transformation in ECE. We do this by directly implementing our school readiness program in low-income schools in Karnataka and through system level partnerships at the state/district level to improve the early years’ ecosystem for young children.

About the Role

KEF has recently expanded its footprint to Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. Chhatarpur is one of the Aspirational Districts chosen by NITI Aayog. The Aspirational Districts program aims to ensure localised solutions to achieve sustainable development goals for these underdeveloped districts. One of the highest priorities in aspirational districts is education.

This project focuses on improving the ECE ecosystem in this aspiration district over the next 3 years by:

● Transforming 50 Anganwadis into Aspirational Anganwadis that will be a model for best practices in the district

● Developing resources for training and parent engagement as public goods to improve outcomes in 2000+ Anganwadis in the district in a sustainable manner

● Planning for and executing capacity building for state officials and mid-level management like Supervisors, CDPOs, etc., across the district.

● Leveraging system partnerships to extend resources and impact the state of MP in the long term.

In this role, you will be the critical lever in ensuring the effective management and impact of the Aspirational Anganwadi Project. You will lead from the front and be the point of contact with the product development and leadership teams in Bangalore. You will work with a small team at the grassroots level and directly engage system leadership across various government departments to ensure smooth delivery of the program and continued investment from the government stakeholders. You will be responsible for regular monitoring and evaluation of the program inputs and making key decisions using data to define the program’s future.

Remuneration: Ranging between 4 to 5 lakhs per annum

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Lead the Aspirational Anganwadi Project in Chhatarpur

● Hire and Manage a team of project officers who will implement the program on the ground

● Ensure program efficiency of your team through regular monitoring, evaluation, feedback, and training

● Work directly with the Product team and Leadership teams to share feedback from the program and co-create an impact strategy for Chhatarpur

● Engage directly in the delivery of training across all stakeholders [AWW, Helpers, CDPOs, Supervisors, Parents, etc.] in the program along with project officers

● Periodically visit the Anganwadis to program quality and bring the voice of the stakeholders to the organisation

● Take ownership of program operations like vendor evaluations, delivery of resources, etc., with support from the on-ground team

● Communicate with Funders via reports, program outcomes, etc. to support the leadership as needed

● Regularly update and invest the government stakeholders [DPO, Dist. Collector, Zilla Panchayat, etc.] in the program

● Assess the effectiveness of the implementation of the program through effective data capturing and provide feedback to strengthen the program

● Explore new developments in Early Childhood Education to build your own capacity

Essential Knowledge and Skills

● Comfortable in communicating and building relationships with different stakeholders

● Excellent written and spoken communication in English & Hindi

● An understanding of local culture and dialects is a plus

● Knowledge of the education ecosystem

Qualification and Experience

● Graduate degree

● Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the education sector, preferably with at least 1-year experience working as a teacher

● Prior experience working with the government on a project is preferred.
