Position: Program Manager – Entrepreneurship (Karnataka Rural Women Scale-Up Program)

 

Reporting: AVP – Women Entrepreneurship Program

NSRCEL is the start-up incubator of IIM Bangalore. Over 585+ ventures have gone through the Incubation Programme and another 1300+ ventures have taken our Launchpad Program. NSRCEL is deeply committed to mobilizing the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the country to foster innovation and economic growth.

NSRCEL is also supported by Niti Aayog, Department of Science and Technology and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

Additionally, NSRCEL has partners with corporates like Goldman Sachs, ICICI Securities, Maruti Suzuki, Capgemini and Kotak Mahindra Bank among others to support entrepreneurs in focused sectors like mobility, fintech, and social entrepreneurship.

What you will be doing?

  • Plan, lead, supervise and manage the project to build capability of rural women entrepreneurs across Karnataka to enable them to grow their businesses in an accelerated manner.
  • Help the team build their capacities to deliver a successful program with minimum mistakes, deviations, and lags under strict deadlines and help them navigate program challenges and the uncertainties.
  • Build and work with a team to evaluate, select the women entrepreneurs with tenacity and potential to scale up their businesses.
  • Work with a team to assess the needs, risks, strengths and weaknesses of the ventures and the entrepreneurs and build individual profiles and business development plans.
  • Develop / design support and capacity building mechanisms for the women entrepreneurs and the ventures that can deliver the clearly defined goals and be sustainable over time.
  • Support the team in monitoring, reviewing the progress of the participating ventures and visit them periodically on-site to understand their challenges and work with them.
  • Ensure that the program runs smoothly, thereby, planning and executing a variety of tasks (including program planning, operations, budget management, marketing & outreach, communication, need assessment, capacity building sessions, workshops & mentorships, technology involvement, vendor selection and other activities as required).
  • Involve community-led processes and liaise, build and maintain ecosystem stakeholder collaborations (including government, academic institutions, non-profit organizations and others).
  • Develop regular communication, reporting cadence towards both internal and external stakeholders, including government and deliver the reporting periodically in formats as required.
  • Identify and leverage multiple and alternate funding sources and provide them with market access, funding access and backward & forward integration opportunities.
  • Support in creating processes, document best practices and success stories, monitor impact metrics and growth, generate reports to further improve the program.
  • Bring newer concepts, ideas, global best practices, and knowledge to the table to develop a better program design / architecture for the target beneficiaries.
  • Develop, suggest, and implement strategies and tactical solutions for the problem areas, keeping a human centric and problem centric approach.
  • Work with the internal cross-functional teams to synergize efforts towards entrepreneurial growth and become champions of NSRCEL. 

What will you need to bring to the table?

  • Have an experiment-led, learning mindset, ready to explore to build goal oriented project
  • Collaborative self-starter with the ability to make connections quickly, build trust and work as a team player and constantly adapt to the changing scenarios
  • Ability to flex continuously between the strategic and tactical or conceptualizing and execution
  • Have a Post Graduate degree from a reputed institution with overall experience of 5 – 7 years in the relevant field

  • Have on-site / field experience across districts of Karnataka and with government agencies

  • Have a positive attitude, a detail orientation and maturity to interact with the senior leadership

Important requirement:

  • Willing to travel extensively in remote parts of Karnataka
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, with fluency in Kannada, English, Hindi.
