About SELCO Foundation and Global SDG7 Hubs

SELCO Foundation, an NGO established in 2010 is working on building a holistic ecosystem for sustainable energy access to inspire and implement socially, financially and environmentally inclusive solutions for sustainable development and poverty alleviation. The organization works to create and deploy innovative solutions and demonstrate the role of renewable energy across verticals of well-being, health, education, livelihoods, and built environment. In this regard, SELCO engages in technical, financial, and social innovation, enterprise development, skill building, policy and financial inclusion.

Under the SELCO Foundation, Global SDG7 Hubs program is a learning platform to position the UN’s SDG 7 as a critical catalyst for a sustainable and equitable future. The idea is to facilitate productive transfers of local knowledge, local expertise, and networks to catalyze the implementation of pro-poor sustainable energy solutions. The platform is proposed to become a cross-learning platform for sustainable energy and development practitioners across Global South. Currently, SELCO is working with local partners in Tanzania, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, etc. to build them as regional hubs within Sub-Saharan Africa.

Key responsibilities:

• Anchor budgetary and financial planning towards achievement of organizational goal
• Review, monitor and manage budgets and budgetary implications for ongoing and forecasted programs across the program while also keeping the team abreast of the program’s financial status
• Clearly communicate monthly and annual financial performance reports; collate financial reporting materials for all functional areas, and oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting
• Act as the main point of contact for addressing any inquiries and questions related to financial operations
• Set and train teams on templates for planning and monitoring monthly, quarterly, annual budgets and expenditure
• Conduct training activities as well as initiate the performance development programs for doing better budgeting and financial analysis at team and at organization level
• Supervise, analyze and report regular inflows and outflows across funders, teams and regions
• Develop financial goals and objectives for the team and organization
• Conduct budgetary/finance audit periodically and recommend improvements
• Develop budgetary/finance policies and procedures for operational efficiency
• Develop and maintain budgetary and financial statements for future reference
• Ensure that financial operational activities are executed and delivered as per organizational standards

Qualifications:

• Graduate with A/ CWA/ MBA Finance background is preferred
• 4-5+ years of experience in finance and similar roles
• Highly motivated, responsible, attentive to detail, curious, self-directed, resourceful, and flexible.
