About SELCO Foundation and Global SDG7 Hubs:

SELCO Foundation, an NGO established in 2010 is working on building a holistic ecosystem for sustainable energy access to inspire and implement socially, financially and environmentally inclusive solutions for sustainable development and poverty alleviation. The organisation works to create and deploy innovative solutions and demonstrate the role of renewable energy across verticals of well-being, health, education, livelihoods, and built environment. In this regard, SELCO engages in technical, financial, and social innovation, enterprise development, skill building, policy and financial inclusion.

Under the SELCO Foundation, Global SDG7 Hubs program is a learning platform to position the UN’s SDG 7 as a critical catalyst for a sustainable and equitable future. The idea is to facilitate productive transfers of local knowledge, local expertise, and networks to catalyze the implementation of pro-poor sustainable energy solutions. The platform is proposed to become a cross-learning platform for sustainable energy and development practitioners across Global South. Currently, SELCO is working with local partners in Tanzania, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, etc. to build them as regional hubs within Sub-Saharan Africa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing outreach plan for Global SDG7 Hubs to conceptualise, coordinate, and disseminate various knowledge and outreach materials of the Global SDG7 Hubs program.
  • Managing social media accounts such as Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, websites, etc., and their content (e.g. videos, articles, social media posts, newsletters, case studies, reports, etc.) and coordination support to the overall development of the Global Hubs Website/platform with the web development partner.
  • Coordinate development and writing of decks, concept notes, project notes, training materials. interactive content (photographs, illustrations, animated video, etc) and case studies from implementations of SDG7 scenarios in various regions and countries.
  • Mapping and connecting with outreach partnerships (individual and institutional) such as media partners, video developers, outreach partners, etc in various focus countries for content creation, document publishing, developing program videos, outreach materials, etc. to disseminate the knowledge materials effectively.
  • Lead and coordinate primary and secondary research, data analysis from multiple sources with respect to the sector or programs across the organisation, and consultations with primary stakeholders (community members, practitioners, and sectoral experts) to validate the information
  • Support in organising outreach events such as webinars, conferences, round tables, travel, podcasts, live demos, etc.
  • Coordinating the development and management of knowledge and outreach pieces (articles, toolkits, learning documents, research pieces, etc) while closely coordinating with the Knowledge + Implementation teams at SELCO Foundation
  • Provide assistance in designing and implementing the research and landscape studies using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Identify and support documentation of best practices and lessons learned and relevant stakeholders to maximise the impact of the projects in forms of learning briefs, articles, reports, and other form of written and digital communication
  • Develop standardised survey tools and other data collection forms for evaluation studies, analyse data and prepare the reports and decks.
  • Manage and deliver content for press releases, media relations content, newsletter content, regular blogs, and updating of communication on the website.


  • A graduate/ post graduation degree in journalism, media, communication, PR or an allied field with a relevant experience of 4-6 years is desired
  • Familiarity with research methodologies, tools and analysis for qualitative and quantitative studies
  • Understanding of global social development, livelihood sector, health sector, and sustainable energy is desirable and an experience of working at a global scale will be an added advantage
  • Efficient use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visual software skills (e.g. Canva, Adobe Suite or Affinity Suite) are desirable
  • Good analytical skills e.g. the ability to derive meaningful relationships in the data to draw meaningful insights using statistical software packages
  • Good communication skills with an excellent written command to work with international team members from various countries
  • Willingness and ability to coordinate with different types of stakeholders in regional countries to develop relevant knowledge/ outreach materials
  • Willingness to participate in field activities/surveys and travel to remote areas within the region
