About the Organization
Tata Institute of Social Sciences is a multi-campus public university in Mumbai, India. It is Asia’s oldest institute for professional social work education and was founded in 1936 in the then Bombay Presidency of British India as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work by the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust.
Job Responsibilities
- Support STARS States in developing school education improvement strategies for Teacher Professional Development, including support in implementing Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWPB); mid-term review and revision of strategy documents
- Track progress against Disbursement Linked Indicators (DLIs) for the STARS project (TPD Portfolio); identify achievement of results that trigger disbursement and flag the same to an Independent Verification Agency for third party verification
- Basis of project learning, support MoE in outlining the Vision for India for the focus areas as well as draft plan to achieve that Vision in a defined timeframe, also outlining any necessary central/ policy reforms
- Develop formats/systems for concurrent tracking of project progress. Track results as per the indicators, frequency and means of verification specified in the results framework for the STARS project; generate progress reports when required
- Liaisoning between PMU, implementation agency and partner organizations
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Post-Graduate or equivalent in management/economics/education / statistics or related discipline
- Minimum Five years’ experience in supporting the planning and management of teacher professional development initiatives, and teacher management systems and reforms
- Desirable: Ph.D. in management/economics/education / statistics/Teacher Professional Development
Skills and competencies required
- Understanding of effective teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and assessment strategies
- Skills in collecting, analysing, and interpreting data related to teacher performance, student achievement, and 3 professional development needs
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and platforms for delivering online or blended professional development programs
- Skills in planning, organizing, and implementing professional development initiatives within budget and timelines
- Establishing and maintaining partnerships with SCERTs, SIEMATs, DIETS, educational institutions, organizations, and experts to enhance professional development opportunities towards Quality in-service teacher education in STARS and Twinning States
- Excellent communication skills in English & Hindi
Salary
Gross monthly remuneration in the range of Rs. 80,000/- to 100,000/- per month (inclusive of all taxes), commensurate with qualification and experience
