We believe in the power of movement building, to challenge the social norms that reinforce gender inequality and re-write the narratives that shape the day-to-day lives of women and girls, normalizing social, economic, and political exclusion.
Our primary work is focused on and with young women between 12 to18 years of age from socially and economically marginalized communities. Milaan aims to empower adolescent girls by addressing the 4 dimensions that we have identified as critical for their well-being:
1. Completion of Secondary Education,
2. Enhanced access to information and services on Adolescent Health,
3. Delay in marriage age,
4. Prevention of Gender-based Discrimination and Violence.

Position Description:
The Girl Icon Network currently engages and supports 500+ young women from low income families across 3 states with scholarships and livelihood opportunities. By 2025 we strive to strengthen the Girl Icon Network with a membership of over 5000 Girl Icons spread across 5 states of India and develop partnerships with over 100 organizations to ensure 80% of the members have access to scholarships for higher education, and are provided capacity building programs for future-readiness and livelihood opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead the implementation, development and monitoring of all activities under the Girl Icon Network to meet the program objectives.
● Conceptualize and drive strategies to raise funds, grow and manage a portfolio of prospective and existing donors, and build donor centric relationships to support the vision and mission of the network.
● Direct and manage the scholarship program, including reviewing the scholarship process, and conducting due diligence for new scholarships and monitoring existing scholarship.
● Steward and maintain existing relationships with donors, foundations, CSRs etc through continuous engagement and communications.
● Identify and acquire opportunities such as scholarships for higher education, fellowships, internships, placements etc. for girls in the network.
● Design, implement and roll out a job readiness program under the Girl Icon Network.
● Design, plan and successfully organize the Girl Icon Network Annual convention.
● Develop progress reports and donor reports.
● Develop impact stories for external and internal purposes.
● Provide guidance and supervision to the Program Coordinator to successfully deliver results.
Skills and Qualifications Required
Milaan is looking for a dynamic and result oriented team player to join our team and lead the program. The candidate is a self starter, willing to lead projects and start from scratch. They have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail. The candidate can lead meetings, discussion with external stakeholders and manage relationships to achieve the objectives of the program. The candidate is a compelling communicator and has excellent writing skills, including report and proposal writing.
● A university degree with 6-8 years of experience working in a similar profile.
● An excellent track record in fundraising and networking.
● Previous experience of working in donor acquisition and partnerships with a non profit organization.
● Experience of leading projects/programs.
● Great interpersonal, relationship building and marketing skills.
● Fluent in English and Hindi. Knowledge of Kannada is a plus.
Annual Salary – 7.2 lacs to 7.8 lacs (depending on experience)
