In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases. These programs are funded by USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, David & Lucile Packard Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), MSD for Mothers, and other anonymous donors.
Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Program Officer (PO) based at the district level in the state of Districts Rajasthan states. The PO will support the Born Healthy program based on demonstrating a successful model of evidence-based Antenatal Care (ANC) by designing, conducting and monitoring activities that provide quality and timely programmatic support to health providers, health facilities and other relevant stakeholders. The position will report to State Program Officer (SPO) in her/his respective state.
Responsibilities
1.Work under the guidance of the Senior Program Officer – Born Healthy to support thestreamlined rollout of the ANC strengthening intervention and its day-to-day operations atthe district level
2.Assists Senior Program Officer to achieve project deliverables and timelines as per desiredquality and specifications.
3.Provide technical and programmatic support and guidance to district-level stakeholdersinvolved in Born Healthy to strengthen ANC.
4.Liaise and coordinate with the team to provide troubleshooting support in the district andat the facility level.
5.Support testing, implementation, and documentation of technology solutions.
6.Take responsibility and accountability for ensuring issues are resolved or escalated to theproper resources to resolve in a timely manner with minimum disruption to the operationalareas.
7.Assess and supervise the utilization of technology platforms within healthcare deliveryinfrastructure in the state.
8.Support to organize and conduct virtual as well as in-person trainings, workshops, and on-site coaching in consultation with the supervisor, this includes planning training schedules,identifying trainers, monitoring training, and post-training follow-up.
9.Ensure timely collection, and collation of the program data and facilitate project activitiesincluding workshop planning, logistics planning and management, travel arrangements, andother activity support to ensure smooth implementation.
10.Support supervisor in the development of technical content required for the program andtravel when required to Districts in support of activity implementation and monitoring asneeded. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
•Graduate level qualification in Nursing, AYUSH education in India. Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Public Health or Health Management will be preferred.
•3-5 years of experience of working with public health programs especially in Reproductive and Child Health and managing program implementation is desirable. Specific experience in large programs related to quality of care/antenatal care/maternal & newborn health will be preferred.
•Familiarity with the Indian health system, key stakeholders and relevant government policies/strategies particularly National Rural Health Mission would be advantageous.
