**Job Title:** Program Officer – Nurse Mentoring and Capacity Building

We partner with the government and communities to deliver scalable solutions, focusing on enhancing the quality of healthcare provided by the public health system and empowering communities to seek better health outcomes. Currently operating across 8 districts, 38 blocks, and 5,700 villages, TAF reaches 379,000 women and 650,000 children. Our work centers on two integrated approaches: strengthening the government health system and supporting community mobilization.
**Job Summary:**
The Program Officer will play a crucial role in improving Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition (MCHN) indicators in select districts of Madhya Pradesh. This involves conducting assessments (facility, outcome, and knowledge assessments of staff nurses and frontline workers), delivering training on quality service delivery and appropriate documentation, and supporting facility staff in strengthening key service areas (labor room, SNCU, NRC, and MCHN wings). The role requires developing training modules, working closely with government supervisors, tracking program progress, and analyzing data to identify and address gaps. The successful candidate will also contribute to developing guidelines and protocols, preparing reports, and collaborating with the Monitoring and Evaluation team. The position involves significant field work and interaction with various stakeholders.
**Responsibilities:**
* Conduct assessments of facilities, outcomes, and knowledge levels of staff nurses and frontline workers.
* Deliver training to delivery point staff, FLWs, and other health service providers.
* Support facility staff in improving service provision in key areas.
* Develop and implement training and capacity building modules.
* Collaborate with the program team and government supervisors for effective program implementation.
* Develop work plans, track tasks, and identify and address gaps.
* Develop, review, and disseminate guidelines, standards of practice, and protocols.
* Ensure timely submission of reports and updates.
* Analyze data with the M&E team and Program Lead to take corrective actions.
* Document best practices and develop plans to incorporate learnings.
* Collect and analyze data for sharing with government officials.
* Monitor program quality and fidelity at the field level.
* Develop presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
* Co-lead the development of training materials and training design.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
* BSc/MSc Nursing from a recognized institute and registration with a competent authority.
* 2-3 years of experience in training and mentoring on MCHN themes.
* Strong analytical skills and data utilization abilities.
* Ability to present information clearly and insightfully.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in Hindi, and preferably English.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Ability to work independently and as a team player in a complex environment.
* Demonstrated leadership, communication, networking, and presentation skills.
