Brief on the Organization:
The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders.
Project Brief:
Strengthening public health education in India – A capacity development project: Scaling up capacity to educate more public health professionals, while at the same time improving quality of education, requires the development of new innovative approaches and a more considered and evidence-based use of digital educational technologies. This project will strengthen PHFI’s capacities within digital pedagogy, public health education, and educational research. The capacity development in digital learning will also develop a larger integration with on-campus face-to-face pedagogy and blended learning approach to teaching. This experience in integrating digital and face-to-face learning will strengthen the public health education. The objective of this project is for PHFI to be able to support the education of public health professionals both within its own network of six IIPHs across six Indian states, but also more importantly to support educational institutions in rural parts of the country.
Deliverables:
- Plan, record and edit educational videos and audio content in alignment with curricular goals.
- Develop and facilitate workshops/training for teachers.
- Ensure high quality educational media content completed on time and within budget.
- Plan concepts and manuscript writing for video and audio production.
- Work closely with the Academic Learning Unit (ALU) team, faculty and program staff to evaluate, discuss, and/or propose requests and ideas for video content for courses.
- Selecting appropriate camera, audio, and lighting equipment for studio and on location recording.
- Add visual effects, graphics, and sound effects as needed to enhance video content.
- Stay up-to-date with video editing trends, techniques, and software, and recommend improvements to the video production process.
- Travel as and when required.
- Any other task assigned by the PI/ Project Director/ Supervisor.
Qualification:
Desirable:
- Bachelors OR Masters/ PG Diploma equivalent to Masters with experience in media communications, Journalism or any other related field.
- Professional certificate from a film school
- Familiar with principles for effective educational videos
Experience:
Desirable:
- Around 3-6 years of work experience in producing video content for academic/online courses
- Experience (five years or more) of working with video production, including project planning will be given preference.
- Have a pedagogical eye for how graphics, illustration, and animation can support core messages and teaching and learning
- Experience in producing different video genres, e.g. reportage, interview, documentation, instructions, scientific presentations, studio recording
- Experience in using artificial lighting and audio equipment.
- Ability to conceptualize visuals based on requirements. Must be able to prepare rough concepts and present ideas
- Working knowledge of different video formats and video file conversions
- Experience in the usage of graphic design software packages for producing educational content
- Experience in developing workshops and training teachers
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or other industry-standard editing tools
- Strong communication and collaboration skills (written and oral)
