**About the Clean Energy Programme:**
iFOREST’s Clean Energy Programme aims to address regional disparities in India’s renewable energy expansion, focusing on promoting green energy transitions in eastern and northeastern states. The programme works with regulators, policymakers, industry representatives, and civil society to drive inclusive renewable energy growth and contribute to the 500 GW renewable energy target by 2030.
**Job Summary:**
The Programme Associate will support research and engagement activities within the Clean Energy Programme. This involves conducting impactful research, facilitating multi-stakeholder engagement to boost renewable energy development in eastern India, and contributing to the programme’s overall success.
**Responsibilities:**
* Support and execute research initiatives, conducting in-depth primary and secondary research (quantitative and qualitative).
* Stay updated on the latest trends and debates in the clean energy sector.
* Support outreach and communication initiatives.
* Build policy-research partnerships with government, industry, and other stakeholders.
* Support the organization of roundtables, convenings, and report release meetings.
* Present research findings to various audiences, including senior policymakers.
* Contribute to iFOREST’s brand building.
* Take on additional tasks as needed to enhance the Clean Energy Programme.
**Qualifications & Experience:**
* Master’s degree from a recognized institution in management, economics, public policy, energy policy, renewable energy technology, or a related field.
* 3-5 years of work experience in research, consulting, or advisory roles within the renewable energy sector.
**Required Competencies:**
* Comprehensive understanding of India’s clean energy sector, policies, programmes, regulations, and initiatives at national and sub-national levels.
* Awareness of current discussions on clean energy and climate change at international and national levels.
* Technical knowledge of the power sector (preferred).
* Proficiency in research and writing, including qualitative and quantitative research methods (using software such as Excel, R, and QGIS).
* Experience managing research teams and organizing data collection.
* Proficiency in multi-stakeholder engagement, including presentation and facilitation skills.
* Ability to build connections and engage with diverse individuals.
* Flexibility and a supportive attitude.
* Passion for clean energy growth in India, particularly in eastern region states.
* Understanding of the role of think tanks in shaping policies and programmes.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Willingness to travel.
