**About the Clean Energy Programme:**
iFOREST’s Clean Energy Programme aims to address regional disparities in India’s renewable energy expansion, focusing on promoting green energy transitions in eastern and northeastern states. The programme works with regulators, policymakers, industry representatives, and civil society to drive inclusive renewable energy growth and contribute to the 500 GW renewable energy target by 2030.
**Job Description:**
The Programme Associate will support research and engagement activities within the Clean Energy Programme. This involves conducting impactful research, facilitating multi-stakeholder engagement to boost renewable energy development in eastern India, and contributing to the programme’s outreach and communication initiatives.
**Responsibilities:**
* Support and execute research initiatives, conducting in-depth primary and secondary research (quantitative and qualitative).
* Stay updated on clean energy sector trends and debates.
* Support outreach and communication initiatives, building policy-research partnerships.
* Contribute to roundtables, convenings, and report release meetings.
* Present research findings to various audiences, including senior policymakers.
* Represent iFOREST on public platforms.
* Take on additional tasks to enhance the Clean Energy Programme.
**Qualifications & Experience:**
* Master’s degree from a recognized institution in management, economics, public policy, energy policy, renewable energy technology, or a related field.
* 3-5 years of work experience in research, consulting, or advisory roles within the renewable energy sector.
**Required Competencies:**
* Comprehensive understanding of India’s clean energy sector, policies, programmes, regulations, and initiatives at national and sub-national levels.
* Awareness of clean energy and climate change discussions at international and national levels.
* Technical knowledge of the power sector (preferred).
* Proficiency in research and writing, including qualitative and quantitative research methods (Excel, R, QGIS).
* Experience managing research teams and structuring data collection.
* Proficiency in multi-stakeholder engagement, presentations, and facilitating discussions.
* Ability to build connections and engage diverse individuals.
* Flexibility and a supportive attitude.
* Passion for clean energy growth in India, particularly in eastern states.
* Understanding of think tanks’ roles in shaping policies and programmes.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Willingness to travel.
