Primary Role of the position:

The Programme Finance Associate will be responsible for co-ordination and support in the entire finance management of the program funds and grant management and strengthening of systems within Caritas India.

Key Accountabilities; same being indicative and not exhaustive:

New Delhi:

  • Fund flow management system is prepared and followed for all the projects supported and implemented by Caritas India
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the finance management capacities of the partners
  • Receipt of audited statements and feedback and follow up by supporting and coordinating with zonal finance personnel
  • Maintain and Update the Project Control Ledger in TALLY
  • Periodic Donor reporting in prescribed format.
  • Grant Management and reporting of Misereor funded projects
  • Financial Monitoring and accounting of National Projects 

Bengaluru:

  • Support in Financial management of the partners as regards systems and procedures.
  • Financial monitoring of the Projects implemented by Partner Organizations in the states specified with special reference to budgets, reports, consolidation of reports, cash flows of partners and the overall project.
  • Field based guidance and accompaniment and Organize training and orientation to project accountants.
  • Update Regional database of all projects implemented by Caritas in the specified region.
  • Assist Partners in preparing Finance manual.
  • Ensure Tally system of accounting at Partner level and Tally linkage and synchronization. (Legal version 9)
  • Coordinate financial review/evaluations. Follow-up on evaluation recommendations.
  • Feedback, reporting and follow up on all activities. 

Hyderabad:

  • Provide support in financial management of the partners in line with CI Finance Policy / Quality Systems and procedures and in adherence to all statutory /legal compliances as applicable.
  • Ensure financial monitoring of the projects implemented by partner Organizations in the States specified with regard to budgets, reports /consolidation of reports on financial issues, cash flows of partners and the overall project.
  • Field based guidance and accompaniment and organization of training and orientation to project accountants based on current financial needs
  • Update financial database of all projects implemented by Caritas India for regions being handled.
  • Assist partner organizations in preparing the Finance Manual and implementation of the policy within their Organization.
  • Ensure implementation of the Tally System of Accounting at partner level on periodical basis.
  • Coordinate financial review/evaluations at the partner level as well at CI level for regions being handled.
  • Ensure follow up actions on recommendations. Ensure timely submission of all financial statements/ reports as per organizational need. 

Guwahati:

  • Fund flow management system is prepared and followed for all the projects supported and implemented by Caritas India
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the finance management capacities of the partners
  • Receipt of audited statements and feedback and follow up by supporting and coordinating with zonal finance personnel
  • Maintain and Update the Project Control Ledger in Tally 9
  • Periodic Donor reporting in prescribed format
  • Grant Management and reporting of Misereor funded projects
  • Financial Monitoring and accounting of National Projects 

Knowledge/ Skills

  • Knowledge of the Finance Management and Accounting Standards in Development Sector
  • Knowledge of legal and statutory requirements related to NGOs
  • Exposure to national / international Trainings and workshops on finance management
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Tally 9
  • Understanding of Program Budgeting and Monitoring
  • Capacity Building Skills in functional area
  • Developing Finance Reports and proper documentation
  • Interaction with Auditors
  • Good Communication skills
  • Accuracy for details 

Qualification / Work Experience:  Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Equivalent Degree with 3 -5 yrs. of work experience in similar role in development organization with exposure to managing financial aspects of development Program/ Projects including Budgeting, Monitoring of Budget / Fund Utilization in line with all national/local statutory financial and legal compliances.

Salary : INR 45,000/-  to INR 55,000/- CTC per month
