Purpose: The Asia Society India Centre is currently seeking a highly motivated, organized, creative and entrepreneurial individual to lead it’s business and policy programming. The candidate should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with more than five-years of experience in producing and co-ordinating complex programs on topical issues around business, policy, economics, sustainability etc. This is a people facing role, which requires conceptualising, planning and executing a slate of high-quality in-person and virtual events, meetings, and engagements. The focus areas will be the countries and cultures of the Asia-Pacific, and global relationships and issues that impact the region. This role reports to the organisation’s CEO.

Responsibilities:

•      Lead research, evaluation, and execution of multiple-level programmes for a global audience on economics and business, national and regional political development, climate change, public health, education, security and defence, history, and other issues of importance to Asian societies.

•      Identify & build a variety of engagement formats to maximise programming impact. Design and bring both in-person and virtual convenings to life, ensuring participants are engaged in a meaningful way with each other and the content.

•      Lead effective administration of all online and physical programming activities

•      Strategise and execute an outreach plan for the events

•      Assistance in the identification and development of corporate and other private sponsors for programmes, as well as organisation memberships.

•      Development of programme proposals for the purpose of grants and support from potential donors and corporate foundations.

•      Development, writing, editing and utilization of appropriate communication vehicles, including programme invitations, newsletters, the Asia Society India Centre website, programme transcripts, research papers, and social media especially LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook to advertise programmes and interest areas, as well as to extend the reach.

•      Engagement with the Asia Society membership base and other community groups to ensure sound relationship management.

•      Track and evaluate various convening activities against key success metrics, with an eye toward continuous improvement, including audience satisfaction, attendance, registration experience, future engagement with attendees, etc.

•      Active development and maintenance of relationships with prospective programme resources, both across Asia and the United States, with a particular focus on relationships in India; Special focus on expanding Asia Society’s network of opinion leaders in academia, business, think-tanks, government and the media;

•      Proactive liaising with colleagues at Asia Society New York and other global centres;

Requirements:

•      Minimum 7 years of work experience, preferably in a programming role within a non-profit;

•      Master’s degree in Political Science, International Relations or Public Policy is highly desirable;

•      Prior experience in leading and managing a team;

•      Excellent organizational, written, verbal and computer skills;

•      Prior experience with donor relations, stakeholder management and development;

•      Ability to work with a wide range of people and personalities in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment;

•      Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and follow through on details; 

•      Flexibility regarding schedule is a must as many programs are in the evenings or on weekends;

•      Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in the Asian region is imperative;

•      Proficiency in Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required. Knowledge of Canva preferred.
