WWF-India’s Environment Education division is a vibrant programme with a vision to inform and empower children, youth, and citizens to take action and create impact for a sustainable planet. The team has an on-ground presence in 12 states and facilitates innovative nature education and outreach initiatives for diverse target audiences, such as students, educators, school leaders, college goers, young adults, professionals, and citizens around the country.
We are looking to recruit a qualified and dynamic ‘Programme Officer’ who is passionate about conservation education, to be a part of ‘Nature Connect’ which is a team that works to connect humans with the natural world through experiential nature trails, workshops, biodiversity festivals, courses, camps and citizen science. Nature Connect is a part of WWF-India’s Environment Education division, this is a full time role that is a combination of field and desk-based work.
The incumbent’s role is to design, implement and facilitate nature trails in locations in and around Delhi / NCR as well as develop exciting content and activities centred around biodiversity education and action.
Job Profile:
- Organise nature trails and camps, including coordinating both back-end and front-end logistics.
- Design and facilitate experiential and nature-based education both outdoors, indoors and online e.g. courses, festivals
- Create content and outreach materials to introduce citizens to nature
- Conceptualise exciting ways to engage our community of learners with education geared towards biodiversity education and action
- Assist in organisation of citizen science initiatives e.g. biodiversity surveys
- Support in execution of versatile nature education initiatives as per the programme requirements.
- Support with communications, both internal and external, for the Nature Connect team.
- Assist the team in any other work assigned from time to time.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications, Experience and Expertise:
- Bachelors / Masters in anyone (or more) of the following fields: Environment and Conservation Sciences, Education or Communications
- Minimum 1 – 2 years of relevant experience as under.
- Experience with conservation education (nature trails, workshops, courses, camps, citizen science) to engage diverse target audiences
- Conceptual understanding of ecology and familiarity with natural history.
- Demonstrable ability to facilitate learning experiences with diverse target audiences.
- Efficient event organization skills, ability to multi-task and manage working relationships
- Proficiency in spoken Hindi and English are mandatory.
- Basic computer literacy and functional use of Microsoft Office tools, Google / One Drive and social platforms.
