**Job Summary:**

 

The Programme Policy Officer will provide technical assistance and policy advocacy related to nutrition and school feeding programs in Uttar Pradesh, India.  This role involves collaborating with government stakeholders, supporting project implementation, and contributing to the development of policy briefs and reports.  The position requires strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* Analyze state-level nutrition and school feeding policies and programs to identify gaps and solutions.

* Engage with government stakeholders to scale up WFP interventions.

* Develop policy briefs and presentations on food-based safety nets.

* Represent WFP at state-level forums.

* Provide monitoring and technical support to WFP-supported projects.

* Contribute to project proposals, implementation plans, and reports.

* Support capacity building of partners and government counterparts.

* Develop information, education, and communication materials.

* Liaise with project stakeholders for effective implementation and issue resolution.

* Coordinate with government counterparts at the state and district levels.

* Identify and foster relationships with potential partners.

* Provide guidance to field staff.

* Perform other related duties as required.

 

 

**Qualifications:**

 

* **Education:** Advanced University degree in Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition, Food Technology, Medicine, or a relevant field.

* **Experience:** At least one year of professional experience in nutrition within the development sector.  Experience working with government agencies, INGOs, or on community-level malnutrition projects is desirable.  Experience implementing technical programs and contributing to policy discussions is preferred.

* **Languages:** Fluent oral and written communication skills in English and Hindi.

 

**Knowledge & Skills:**

 

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

* Advocacy and networking skills with diverse stakeholders.

* Knowledge of research methods (quantitative and qualitative).

* Advanced computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office).

* Knowledge of the UN system and WFP programs is an advantage.

* Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team.
