**Job Title:** Programme Specialist – Agribusiness

 

**Organization:** Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) (AKRSP(I)), a programme of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). AKRSP(I) works across multiple states in India, focusing on agriculture and climate resilience, work and enterprise, and rural governance.

 

**Job Location:** Saran District, Bihar, India

 

**Experience Required:** 2-3 years in the development sector.  Prior experience in livestock management is preferred.

 

**Education:** B.Sc. Agriculture, MBA-Rural Management/Development, Agribusiness, or an allied technical qualification.

 

**Skills & Competencies:**

 

* In-depth understanding of market development, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, particularly within the agribusiness context.

* Strong training and facilitation skills.

* Excellent liaisoning skills.

* Proven marketing skills.

* Experience in agriculture, marketing, postgraduate studies, and capacity building.

* Fluency in written and spoken English and Hindi.

 

 

**Job Responsibilities:**

 

* Create and manage profitable businesses for farmers.

* Support the functioning of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) according to producer company guidelines.

* Develop business development plans for promoted microenterprises.

* Mobilize resources for producer groups and implement related projects.

* Increase the top-line (business turnover) and bottom-line (net profit) of producer groups.

* Facilitate and strengthen producer groups.

* Establish systems for input procurement and distribution, output aggregation, and train farmers in primary processing (grading, sorting, packaging).

* Ensure timely collection of program data and maintain the Management Information System (MIS).

* Perform other duties as assigned.
