**Job Title:** Programme Specialist, NOC, Fixed Term Appointment

 

**Job Location:** New Delhi, India (Open for individuals with a valid work permit for India).  The position may require travel to Nepal.

**Job Summary:**

 

The India Country Office (ICO) seeks an experienced and dynamic Programme Specialist to provide high-quality support to the Representative.  This involves coordinated management and oversight of the ICO (main office in New Delhi, 13 Field Offices, and outposts).  Responsibilities include strategic planning and coordination, implementing internal guidelines, promoting organizational culture and innovation, analyzing socio-political-economic trends in India, and supporting policy advocacy and external partnerships.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

* Advise senior management on strategic and management issues.

* Support front office operations, including meetings and correspondence.

* Support policy advocacy efforts and strengthen external engagement.

* Coordinate the preparation of high-quality documents (briefing notes, policy papers, advocacy strategies).

* Ensure consistent messaging across ICO engagements.

* Represent the ICO at meetings and events (as requested).

 

**Experience Required:**

 

* Minimum five years of relevant professional experience in external relations, programme management, public affairs, general office administration, or international development cooperation, preferably within the UN or a similar international organization.

 

**Qualifications:**

 

* Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or other relevant disciplines.

* Fluency in English and Hindi (or other local working language).  Mastery of another UN language is an asset.

* Strong background in public affairs, including preparing high-quality briefing notes and policy documents.

* Proven ability to advise senior leaders on strategic and management issues.

* Expertise in managing front office operations and coordinating meetings.

* Experience in fostering an inclusive and innovative workplace culture.

* Demonstrated capacity to identify and implement process improvements.

 

**Desirable Qualifications:**

 

* Experience working in India.

* Experience working with UNICEF.

 

 

**Contract Type:** Fixed-term appointment (initial two years, with possibility of extension).
