## Programme Specialist – Livelihood

**Job Location:** Saran District of Bihar, India
**Experience Required:** 2-3 years in the development sector, with experience in working with Livelihood projects.
**Job Description:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced **Programme Specialist – Livelihood** to join our team in Saran District of Bihar. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of agricultural extension work, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting functions, particularly in the context of Community Based Organizations (CBOs).
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Contribute to increasing household incomes and food availability through diversified crop production, particularly benefiting women.
* Establish and manage a farmer field school to demonstrate best practices.
* Promote organic manure production with farmers to reduce fertilizer costs.
* Facilitate soil testing with institutions and provide advice to farmers in the intervention area.
* Establish a solar-based irrigation model to ensure assured irrigation in targeted villages.
* Promote natural farming through the establishment of a Bio-Resource Centre.
* Develop vegetable clusters in project villages.
* Organize farmer training on Natural Pest Management (NPM) practices.
* Understand the programs, projects, issues, and challenges within the program area.
* Coordinate with the team for effective field implementation.
* Share best practices and efforts with relevant government departments.
* Invite government officials to program events.
* Advocate for the conversion of government schemes into program initiatives.
* Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and government line departments.
* Perform any other tasks assigned by AKRSP (I) management.
**Skills & Competencies:**
* Strong knowledge of agricultural extension work.
* In-depth understanding of monitoring, evaluation, and reporting functions, especially in the context of CBOs.
* Excellent training and facilitation skills.
* Strong liaison skills.
* Community-centric approach and team handling experience.
* Experience in marketing, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and capacity building.
* Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Hindi.
