**Job Description:**
Under the guidance of the Deputy Representative, the Programme Specialist will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing UN Women’s interventions within the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) portfolio. This includes:
* **Programme Development and Implementation:** Conducting thorough analysis of the political, social, and economic context of GBV; designing and formulating programme initiatives; providing technical expertise for effective programme design, development, and implementation; ensuring the application of results-based management (RBM) tools; and leading programme development and implementation according to RBM requirements.
* **Monitoring and Evaluation:** Ensuring technical soundness and feasibility of ongoing programmes/projects; monitoring achievement of results; overseeing the application of monitoring systems to track progress; and preparing high-quality technical reports.
* **Team Management and Coordination:** Supervising programme staff, project staff, experts, and consultants; coordinating activities; and ensuring timely report submission. Conducting field visits for supervision and monitoring.
* **Resource Mobilization and Partnerships:** Implementing resource mobilization strategies; creating and coordinating partnerships with UN agencies, government institutions, donors, the private sector, civil society, and academia; identifying opportunities for cooperation and cost-sharing; and following up on fundraising activities.
* **Advocacy and Knowledge Management:** Supporting the establishment of advocacy networks; implementing advocacy activities and campaigns; identifying and synthesizing best practices; contributing to knowledge networks; developing training modules and knowledge products; and overseeing research on EVAW in India. Leading the 16 Days of Activism and ongoing EVAW campaigns.
**Experience Required:**
* Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in designing and managing GBV programmes.
* Experience in policy analysis and strategic planning.
* Experience working with and building partnerships with governments, donors, and civil society organizations.
* Strong experience in the GBV and EVAW sector.
* Experience leading and coaching staff.
* Experience working in the UN is desirable.
* Proficiency in computer software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and web-based management systems.
**Education:**
Master’s degree in International Development, Gender Studies, Human Rights, Applied Anthropology, or a related social science field.
**Language Requirements:**
Fluency in English and Hindi is required. Working knowledge of other Indian languages is an asset.
