About the Organization

Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) is a non-denominational, non-government development organization. AKRSP(I) works as a catalyst for the betterment of rural communities by providing direct support to local communities. AKRSP(I) is active in over 3255 villages of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Maharashtra. It has impacted lives of over 3.5 million people from marginalised sections of society. Over 80% of the households impacted by AKRSP(I)’s work belong to marginalised communities like tribals, dalits, and minorities. Over 60% of beneficiaries are women who form a core group for program interventions.

Job Description/Responsibilities

  • Visioning and conceptual development of involved field team and community leaders.
  • Managing the Village institution and livelihood development project of the area and carefully understanding the programmes and different projects, area of the programme its issues and challenges.
  • Support in Community mobilization activities at village level.
  • Ability to manage the team of community level volunteers, CRP and Pashu Sakhis, Arogya Sakhis.
  • Capacity Building of SHG groups, Women’s federation, FPOs, community, volunteers, and other institutions.
  • Ensuring timely collection of Programme data.
  • Ensuring maintenance of MIS and preparing the MIS parameters.
  • Timely report to funding agency/donor.
  • Preparation of quarterly/half yearly/annual reports for organizational purpose
  • Ensuring maintenance of all documentation related to the programme.
  • To support strengthening process documentation and monitoring systems.
  • Review and monitoring of Programme, finance, and administration.
  • Identification and documentation of best practices and sharing of our best practices /efforts to the concerned Govt. department
  • Networking and liaison with academic, technical and government departments related to livestock development.
  • Efforts for conversion the government schemes in programme
  • Ensure timely supply of material at field level
  • Ensure timely settlement of all bill vouchers

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Masters in social work or Development Studies
  • Experience: More than 5 years of experience in the same field

Skills & Competencies required

  • In-depth Understanding of Functioning of CBOs (SHG, Cluster, Federation, Cooperative & FPO)
  • In-depth understanding of monitoring, evaluations, and reporting functions especially in the context of CBO
  • Good training and Facilitation Skills
  • Good Liaison Skill
  • Community Centric & Team handling
  • Experience in micro finance, Agriculture, livestock, enterprise, health and nutrition, FPO and Capacity Building
  • Fluency in both oral and written communication in Gujarati, English & Hindi
