## Project Associate/ Project Manager – Academics

Founded in 2012, Central Square Foundation (CSF) is a non-profit philanthropic foundation dedicated to ensuring quality school education for all children in India. We strive to transform the school education system, particularly focusing on improving learning outcomes for children in low-income communities.
**About the Team**
The Strategic Support States (SSS) team at Central Square Foundation partners with state governments to design and implement educational missions that guarantee foundational learning for all children. Working across five states, our Project Management Units (PMUs) collaborate closely with state bodies to:
* Co-create mission objectives
* Identify critical workstreams
* Define success indicators
* Review mission progress
Beyond these core activities, the SSS team conducts action research projects and pilots context-specific programs to accelerate student learning.
**Position Summary**
CSF is looking for a Project Associate/ Project Manager based in Mohali, Punjab, to support our state FLN team in developing and implementing a comprehensive foundational learning program. This role will specifically focus on academic workstreams including:
* Teaching Learning Materials
* Teacher (and Academic Cadre) Capacity Building
* Mentoring and Coaching
* Assessments and Classroom Observations
The position requires daily interaction and collaboration with state government officials.
**Key Responsibilities**
* **Develop work products, documents, and outputs related to academic workstreams in consultation with internal CSF teams and academic partners:**
* **Teaching-Learning Materials and Instructional Design:** Assist the state in designing high-quality curricular and instructional materials such as academic calendars, learning outcome frameworks, teacher guides, lesson plans, and student worksheets.
* **Assessments:** Support the state in creating an assessment framework for early grades, encompassing system assessments and school-based assessments (formative and summative).
* **Continuous Teacher Professional Development:** Provide support to the state in conducting training needs assessments, situational analysis, designing high-quality teacher training modules, developing trainer capacity, monitoring training, and providing feedback.
* **Mentoring:** Design and integrate an on-site support program for teachers, informed by evidence gathered through classroom observation.
* **Support the PMU in continuous program monitoring and course correction during the implementation of academic workstreams.**
* **Manage knowledge and document the implementation of work.**
**Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities**
* **Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university is required; a Master’s degree preferred in education, development studies, or social sciences.**
* **0 to 2 years (for Project Associate) and 2 to 7 years (for Project Manager) of post-qualification work experience, preferably in the education sector.**
* **Experience in academic areas of education such as classroom teaching, curriculum, or instructional design is highly preferred.**
* **Strong interest in the Development/Education sector.**
* **Fluent in English with excellent reading and writing skills, and knowledge of the Punjabi language (including reading & writing).**
* **Demonstrated growth and learning mindset.**
* **Excellent writing and oral communication skills.**

* **Compensation:** Competitive with Indian philanthropy pay scales and will depend on the candidate’s experience.
