About the program

LFE runs a ‘District Transformation Project’ in the districts across 6 districts in Maharashtra, with the goal of improving learning outcomes for lakhs of students in Zilla Parishad Schools. LFE has been closely working with the stakeholders in these geographies with a systems change perspective to drive process and policy level improvements. We are looking for an experienced team member with deep experience in working with governments and working in the team as a strong team player. Applicants must be proficient in communicating with external stakeholders for smoother project operations. This project is in partnership with Centre For Learning Resources.

Job description and responsibilities

The Project Coordinator position offers an excellent learning opportunity to actively engage in on-the-ground work specifically focusing on the teacher development and Early Childhood Education aspect of the project and oversee the thorough implementation of the program. Collaborating closely with the Project Associate and the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring efficient execution of the following tasks, among others:

Training and Implementation (60%) 

  • Participate in planning/designing the program training inputs in conjunction with the Reporting Manager.
  • Conduct regular training with block officers, Anganwadi Workers/ICDS Supervisors / government teachers/ teacher-mentors to support their development as per the project plan.
  • Conduct regular Anganwadi and primary school classroom observations and provide onsite support to Anganwadi workers/ teachers / officers
  • Conduct co-observations with the officers and mentors to enhance effectiveness of the delivery of the program
  • Support in the Implementation of the project strategy in coordination with government stakeholders at ICDS/Blocks, Zilla Parishad, and DIET

Stakeholder Management (20%)

  • Foster strong relationships with government stakeholders and partners in the block and district.
  • Collaborate with Anganwadi Workers, teachers and officers for effective project implementation and their professional growth..
  • Act as a liaison with governance bodies like ICDS and Education Departments, DIET coordinating training dates, observations, and monitoring activities.
  • Engage actively in monthly and quarterly update meetings and collaborate on progress reports 

Documentation (10%)

  • Document all collected data in the data management system
  • Ensure proper documentation of the program (print, video and audio) and be responsible for periodic reporting of activities to reporting managers as well as government partners.

Monitoring & Evaluation (10%) 

  • Conduct data collection activities efficiently.
  • Provide support to the manager/M&E team in implementing tools associated with the content created, meeting project requirements.
  • Assist in implementing a robust data collection process for pre and post-intervention assessments, along with continuous monitoring.
  • Support with the ongoing documentation of the project, including conducting baseline, endline, and other relevant assessments.

Requirement:

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in executing projects 
  • Experience working in Maharashtra with government stakeholders would be preferable.
  • Experience in small training with teachers/Anganwadi Workers.
  • Graduation in any discipline.
  • Knowledge, experience and certifications in the education domain is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong facilitation skills for conducting engaging meetings and training sessions with government stakeholders is MUST.
  • Functional knowledge (verbal and written) of Marathi is MUST.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, and various data sets.
  • Openness towards continuous learning and skill development.
  • Basic understanding of social equity, development discourse, and education policy in India.
  • Willingness to travel within the district.
  • Proactive and ability to work effectively in a semi-structured environment.
  • Adaptability to changing responsibilities and resourcefulness in response to challenges.
  • High receptiveness to learning.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders and partners in both public and private sectors.
  • Patience and resilience to persist in the face of setbacks and uncertainties.

Location and Compensation

Location: Akola, Maharashtra.

Compensation: Apart from being a part of our young and dynamic learning team, the selected candidate will be offered a competitive and healthy compensation package, at par with the non-profit sector benchmark for this position. The remuneration will be tailored to the individual’s prior experience and qualifications, ensuring a fair and rewarding opportunity. The current compensation band for this role ranges from 3.0 to 3.6 lakh INR per annum CTC, taking into account the candidate’s fit and experience.
