Summary of the Position:
Works towards the achievement of all goals defined for the respective region by ensuring that activities are done on time, in the appropriate manner and within stipulated budgets
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for sending reports (periodic and occasional) to the Division Head/PI/Admin on the progress of the work.
- Maintenance and upkeep of all enclosures including the quarantine, clinics, food preparation room and power fence
- Responsible for the management of all animals in the shelters including the ones under lifetime care without impairing their rehab potential
- Responsible for the formulation of suitable diet for animals under lifetime care, in consultation with the Division Head/PI
- Provide health support to the animals in the shelters including the ones in lifetime care, following the prescribed immunization, deworming and aesthetic protocols
- Responsible for providing veterinary support and assistance to MVS veterinarian/project team for animals under rehabilitation ex situ and in situ.
- Responsible for all the disease diagnostic, radiographic and surgical procedures at the centre
- Responsible for implementing the biosecurity protocol in place at the centre
- Maintain records of all the management practices (rescue, nursing, feeding, diagnostic procedures etc.) in the registers and/or datasheets and as soft copies
- Provide appropriate enclosure furnishing and behavioural enrichment measures to all animals under care (including lifetime care animals)
- Responsible for the guidance and supervision of interns and volunteers
- Additional responsibilities will be as mentioned in the individual targets as issued by Division Head/PI
Experience: 8 – 12 Years
Qualification: B.V.Sc/ M.V.Sc
