The State Reform Team (SRT) at CSF works with State Education Departments to reform education by implementing large-scale system-led projects with the goal of improving student learning outcomes. It along with its partners is currently supporting various states such Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Haryana to design and implement their state FLN (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) Missions as part of the national NIPUN Bharat Mission. This includes building effective classroom pedagogy and strengthening governance enablers that are critical for the reform. CSF is looking for a Project Lead/ Senior Project Lead who would be based in Delhi. He/she will report to Associate Director in the State Reform team.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to
● Take ownership of project(s) and manage them end-to-end
● Set-up project management processes and guidelines, prepare strategic roadmaps with goals and milestones
● Develop, refine, and contextualize CSF’s POV and develop frameworks on critical FLN work streams in consultation with other CSF teams
● Create internal alignment between different interventions and CSF partners
● Review work-products, documents, and outputs of the program
● Identify/predict breaks, and devise resolution pathways
● Develop and manage strong working relationships with key bureaucrats at the state level including Principal Secretary, State Directors etc.
● Manage a small team of project associates/managers
● Facilitate conversations with external stakeholders (NGOs, experts etc.), setup and manage partnerships to leverage the best support for the State government
● Actively build internal capabilities and support team members by sharing learnings, providing feedback, and ensuring their training and development
Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
● Bachelor’s degree required, from a reputed university; Master’s degree preferred
● 6 to 10 years of post-qualification work experience, superb project delivery and management, previous managerial experience
● Mission Driven, optimistic and enthusiastic- believe in achieving transformational change
● Ability to analyze complex problems, craft possible solutions and recommendations
● Ability to communicate complex ideas in a meaningful way, high fluency of English and Hindi
● Ability to build and maintain positive and collaborative relationships incl. with government
● Ability to work independently and proactively, with little supervision
● Action-biased and strong planning skills, ability to set priorities, plan & meet timelines
● Prior exposure to either the education sector, public/development sector, consulting will be preferred, however people with corporate experience with interest in education sector also encouraged to apply
Compensation: Remuneration will be competitive with Indian philanthropy pay scales and will depend upon the candidate’s experience levels.
