**Job Description:**

 

Peepul is partnering with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to improve learning outcomes through Exemplar Schools and a Teacher Training and Development (TPD) program.  This role is crucial to the success of this partnership and Peepul’s strategic objective of improving the public school system in India.  The Project Manager will independently lead and drive the design and delivery of interventions to support and hold accountable teachers and academic officials of the MCD.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* **Project Design and Implementation:** Lead the design, piloting, and implementation of interventions for academic reforms within the Parivartan program, focusing on teacher support, accountability, and student learning improvement.  This includes designing, piloting, and developing interventions (e.g., Professional Learning Communities, mentoring programs, recognition mechanisms, remedial learning solutions, tech-based learning solutions).  The role requires applying content knowledge and classroom experience to develop interventions that shift teacher mindset, knowledge, and practice.  This also includes leading the piloting of interventions, documenting learnings, and evolving the design for greater impact at scale.  Close collaboration with government stakeholders is essential to build knowledge and capacity for improved implementation.  Defining success metrics and communicating effectively with stakeholders to ensure a successful multi-year engagement is also critical.

 

* **Project Management:** Plan and sequence the implementation of program interventions, coordinating closely with the Project Coordination team and organizational subject experts.  Create effective work planning systems to ensure work stays on track and is effectively prioritized, including regular work reviews.  Potentially manage 1-2 associates, providing guidance and reviewing deliverables.  Collaborate with the in-house M&E team and external experts to develop appropriate project evaluation tools.  Facilitate sessions (training, focus group discussions, learning circles) with teachers, school leaders, and officials.  Work closely with Teacher Education Institutes and district officials to ensure high-quality academic mentoring.

 

* **Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:** Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.  Develop and maintain strong operational relationships with government partners, establishing mechanisms to support collaboration and cross-organizational working.  Build partnerships with other education non-profits and agencies to leverage external expertise and resources.  Build capacity within government teams to ensure ongoing, sustainable organizational self-improvement after the project’s formal end.

 

 

**Requirements:**

 

* **Educational Background:** A relevant educational background in Education, Social Work, or related disciplines is highly preferred.  Candidates with a Master’s in Social Work will be given preference.

 

* **Work Experience:** 3-6 years of direct classroom teaching experience in government schools, with a strong track record of successfully managing projects with multi-functional teams. Experience working in government systems and awareness of education structures in India are desirable.

 

* **Skills:** Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills to support and influence stakeholders; ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals.

 

* **Language Proficiency:** English and Hindi
