## Project Manager, Program & Operations

 

**Selco Foundation** is a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating poverty through sustainable energy and built environment solutions. We work in collaboration with social sector practitioners, NGOs, and governments to create positive change. Our Built Environment team focuses on developing sustainable, climate-smart, and resilient designs and innovations, particularly for housing, healthcare, education, and livelihoods.

 

**We are looking for a passionate and experienced Project Manager to lead and manage our construction projects across Meghalaya.** This is a full-time position with a 6-month probation period. 

 

**Job Location:** Meghalaya, India

 

**Experience Required:** 8 to 10 years of experience in construction project management, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role. 

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and operational procedures, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.

* Oversee the day-to-day management of construction projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.

* Coordinate with program partners, architects, engineers, vendors, government departments, and other stakeholders for seamless project execution.

* Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments for timely completion.

* Lead and mentor the team of site supervisors/engineers and other construction staff.

* Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring clarity of roles and accountability.

* Foster a collaborative and results-driven team environment.

* Serve as the primary point of contact for partners and other stakeholders, maintaining regular communication for project updates and addressing concerns.

* Manage relationships with masons, contractors, vendors, end users, and other external stakeholders.

* Ensure delivery of high-quality work.

* Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking expenses, and ensuring financial control.

* Negotiate rates with masons/contractors and vendors to secure favorable terms and rates.

* Ensure optimal allocation and utilization of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.

* Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all project personnel.

* Oversee quality control processes to ensure that all work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.

* Conduct regular site inspections to monitor compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

* Prepare and present regular project reports to the program manager and program partners.

* Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, work orders, agreements, MOUs, and progress reports.

* Ensure that all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible.

* Identify and address skill gaps within the project team, providing training and development opportunities as needed.

* Facilitate workshops, seminars, and on-the-job training for identified champion masons/contractors/skilled labor and for in-house staff to enhance the technical skills to empanel.

 

**Qualifications:**

 

* Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

* Minimum of 8+ years of experience in construction project management, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role.

* Proven experience managing small to large scale construction projects.

* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.

* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and construction management tools.

* Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other design tools.

**Working Conditions:**

 

* Regular site visits and inspections are required.

* Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations.

* Availability to work extended hours, including weekends, as needed.

* Willingness to travel regularly to remote regions of Meghalaya.
