**About the RMEAL Team:**

 

CSF’s RMEAL team conducts research and monitoring & evaluation activities to understand effective strategies for improving the education system and student learning outcomes, particularly for children from vulnerable backgrounds. The team generates evidence to strengthen education programs and policies, providing technical support internally and overseeing third-party research.

 

**Position Summary:**

 

The Project Manager will be a critical enabler for the RMEAL team, supporting colleagues and senior members in operationalizing the team’s strategy.  The role will primarily focus on the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) and Early Childhood Education (ECE) portfolios.

 

**Roles & Responsibilities:**

 

* Design appropriate research methodologies (quantitative, qualitative, process, and action research) aligned with research objectives.

* Develop monitoring frameworks (tools and processes) for use by CSF, partner organizations, and government bodies.

* Execute rigorous quantitative and qualitative evaluations to assess program impact on student learning.  This includes developing Theories of Change, creating data collection tools, managing data collection, and conducting mixed-methods data analysis.

* Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis, secondary research, synthesize findings, and prepare reports.

* Manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively influence internal and external stakeholders.

 

 

**Skills and Qualifications:**

 

* Bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, education, or a related field; a Master’s degree with research methods coursework is preferred.

* 3-5 years of experience in M&E/public policy research and analysis within an impact development consulting firm, think tank, or implementing agency.  Experience with Indian education policy and related studies is advantageous.

* Strong quantitative research methods and data analysis skills, including social science statistics/econometrics.  Knowledge of qualitative methodologies (thematic coding) and educational assessments (psychometrics/Item Response Theory) is a plus.

* Proficiency in Stata/R; working knowledge of data collection software (SurveyCTO, Tangerine) and qualitative software (NVivo, Dedoose) is preferred.  Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills are required.

* Ability to interpret complex research/data and draw actionable conclusions.

* Excellent project management and interpersonal skills.

* Adaptability and willingness to travel to project locations.

* Prior experience with FLN and ECE projects in India is advantageous.
