**Job Summary:**

 

The Project Officer will support the Project Manager in implementing a project focused on sustainable water management, regenerative agriculture, and improved governance in the Nalsarovar wetland region. This role requires strong field-based coordination, stakeholder engagement, data collection, and reporting skills.  The successful candidate will work closely with local communities, farmers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable practices and integrated wetland management.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* **Sustainable Water Management:** Assist in data collection and analysis of hydrological data; support implementation of water management strategies; conduct site assessments to monitor water quality; carry out wetland health assessments; liaise with water management authorities.

* **Regenerative Agriculture/Sustainable Agricultural Practices:** Collaborate with policymakers and agricultural departments; support monitoring and evaluation of sustainable farming practices; contribute to aligning project goals with sustainable agriculture policies.

* **Governance and Stakeholder Engagement:** Coordinate with district administration and other stakeholders; support the development of institutional mechanisms for collective decision-making; facilitate meetings and consultations with stakeholders.

* **Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:** Maintain project records; prepare progress reports; monitor field activities; document case studies and best practices.

* **Administrative Support:** Provide logistical and administrative support for field visits and meetings; maintain organized project data records.

 

 

**Qualifications and Skills:**

 

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.

* 2-3 years of experience in project management, sustainable agriculture, or water resource management, preferably within the development sector.

* Strong understanding of hydrological systems, sustainable farming practices, and governance frameworks.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving abilities.

* Proficiency in MS Office, data analysis tools, and report writing.

 

 

**Compensation:** Competitive with Indian NGO pay scales, dependent on experience.  WWF-India does not provide housing, telephone, or vehicle facilities.
