Reporting to: Recruitment Director

The Regional Lead (RL) is part of the Recruitment Leadership team, responsible for setting the national strategy alongside with Fellowship Recruitment Director and other Regional leads. This person will set the vision, strategy and operational plan for brand building and candidate sourcing in their regions. They will strategise and innovate to enable outreach and partnership with institutions, upskill empower and their team, build brand value, and use data/analytics to measure and optimise our effectiveness.

Branding, Partnerships & Sourcing lies at the very start of the Recruitment and brand building process, and hence plays a very critical role in attracting high quality, and right fit talent for our movement.

Note: This role will be an on-ground role that will involve travel, including in-person time with relevant stakeholders, meetings with high potential candidates, and conducting events at different venues.

Team Overview

The Recruitment team advocates to get the greatest leaders into our classrooms to ensure Teach For India’s multiplied impact on the Indian education system. The team has the responsibility to influence the future lifepaths of tens of thousands of young people to make the bold choice of doing something for the India that they always dreamed of. As an external-facing team, we build the brand, visibility and aspiration of Teach For India through engagement with the top institutions of the country, media partnerships, branding and promotion campaigns. The team creates strong champions for the movement by identifying, investing and leveraging influencers, and nurturing partnerships with college and corporate stakeholders. The team provides avenues for prospective applicants to meet with Fellows, Alumni, Staff and Students. Internally, the team works alongside several teams to ensure that the organisation acts as one team in its mission to find our movement of leaders who will eliminate educational inequity and ensure that all children attain an excellent vision.

Responsibilities

As a Regional Lead- Branding, Partnerships, Sourcing

Strategy planning, operations and execution

  • Set goals for the region’s based on the organisation’s ambition and past years’ progress.
  • Develop a regional strategy for branding, marketing, and partnerships to amplify Teach For India’s brand and attract exceptional people to consider the Fellowship
  • Capture and investigate data to monitor progress to goals, identify and analyse trends, make adaptations to strategy as necessary
  • Create structures, processes and visibility that enables effective execution, collaboration towards goals, and medium-term stability
  • Manage the regional team budget by allocating resources efficiently and effectively, and defining the annual team calendar and action plan

Stakeholder relationship building

  • Build partnerships and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across universities, corporates and youth clubs across the regions to grow our network, goodwill, brand and eventually have talent pipelines
  • Build relationships with target Universities to ensure we successfully implement our campus engagement strategy by leveraging “Campus Leaders” and running early immersion programs
  • Work alongside all other verticals in the following ways: Selection team to refine our selection processes and criteria, Communications team to develop a regional Communications strategy, Technology team to build the necessary platforms and tools to support the application process as well as enable data-collection, Development team to cross-sell Recruitment and Development, City Teams on regional collaborations, etc.

People & process management

  • Lead and manage a large and diverse team of 4-5 individuals spread across cities
  • Coach, manage, empower and capacity build for each person on the team
  • Build a strong collaborative team culture that is rooted in Teach For India’s culture that values relationships and results

Overall contribution

  • Actively participate in all Recruitment Leadership Team initiatives including long term strategy planning, goal setting, resource allocation, problem-solving, national-level projects, team upskilling initiatives and resource sharing
  • Lead pilot projects and innovations to upgrade approach and systems towards scale

Team builder

  • Take ownership of team members’ learning and growth by providing and seeking timely insights and feedback. Additionally, support other sub-verticals within the team with their efforts on an ongoing and need basis

Minimum Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations

  • A Bachelor’s or a Master’s Degree in any field
  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience
  • A deep belief in Teach For India’s vision, mission, and core values
  • In-depth knowledge of the Teach for India Fellowship Program
  • Previous experience leading large projects and/or teams to successful outcomes
  • Recruitment Manager experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong goal orientation and laser-like focus on outcomes
  • Strategic and critical thinking skills to conceptualize multiple approaches to solving a problem
  • Excellent project planning, management and execution skills
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills to deliver compelling messages through oral and written medium to diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in analyzing large data sets and making inferences to drive strategies and decisions
  • An orientation towards driving depth and excellence in all aspects of the role
  • Ability to be highly resourceful and entrepreneurial in the face of uncertainty
  • Ability to maintain a demanding travel schedule and work long hours (especially at key milestones in the Recruitment cycle like Recruitment deadlines)
