Your team (Project Management)
The Project Management Team will comprise people from various functional domains like education, development studies, program implementation, and operations. As a part of the project management team, you will work collaboratively with various sub-vertical teams in Madhi to ensure quality implementation of all projects. The project management team will also work alongside stakeholders at all levels, offer technical inputs on implementation of all projects, and monitor the implementation team and their progress on project milestones.

- Madhi Foundation’s work is impact-driven and places the last mile child at the center of all decisions. In your role as the Regional Manager, you will need to make sure that the program delivery on ground is of the highest quality and showcases improved outcomes.
- In Madhi Foundation, though hierarchy exists, it is purely for functional and operational purposes. Team members’ opinions across all levels are treated with equal respect and are held to the same standard of expectations. In your role as a manager, apart from monitoring progress, you will need to ensure that you encourage the district teams to build their capacity and constantly enable them to learn.
- The project is to be implemented across all the districts in the state of Tamil Nadu and will require streamlined communication and sharing of best practices. As a Regional Manager you will need to enable cross-learning and collaboration amongst the districts.
The job description:
Below is an indicative set of responsibilities you will be required to lead as part of your role.
In this role some of your responsibilities will include:
- Monitor implementation of the project in 4-5 districts.
- Review detailed Annual District Action Plan (DAP) of 4-5 districts.
- Conduct weekly status calls and monthly reviews with the district teams.
- Review and share regular updates regarding district progress to the State PMU.
- Provide on ground support to the districts when necessary.
- Review the plans and implementation of Information Education and Communication (IEC) activities for the district in collaboration with the State PMU team.
- Review reports and other written documents as and when required.
- Promote cross learning among the district teams through team huddles and other activities.
You will thrive in this role if you:
- Have managed a team of people, preferably in an education or non-profit organization.
- Have worked in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Government’s Education Department or have an understanding of how it works.
- Exceptional interpersonal management skills with a proven track record of building strong, sustainable relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in the government
- A capacity to perform and deliver under pressure with the ability to prioritize effectively
- Exceptional sense of ownership and capacity to set a high bar of excellence for oneself
- Keen interest in large scale project design and management with demonstrable expertise in foundational learning
Prerequisites include:
- 5-7 years of relevant work experience
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of specialization
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand Tamil and English
- Willingness to travel extensively within Tamil Nadu for school observation visits, review meetings, training and programme support activities.
- Travel to the Head Office in Chennai once every quarter for review meetings.
