The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) is looking for a bright and hardworking Economics postgraduate to work with a Senior Fellow in the macroeconomics arena.
A suitable candidate, eligible to apply, is expected to have:
- A Master’s degree in economics
- At least a year’s experience in working with a research organization that can be a thinktank, investment bank, or a university including assisting a senior academic. Candidates with more experience are preferred and the designation offered to the candidate will be determined based on experience
- Basic data skills viz., excel, common statistical programs, etc.
- The ability to execute initial and descriptive statistical tasks, along with analytical understanding of the economic objective of the exercise
- Writing, oral and presentation skills of matching level

The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) conducts in-depth, policy relevant research and provides evidence-based recommendations to the challenges facing India and the world. It draws on the expertise of its researchers, extensive interactions with policy makers as well as convening power to enhance the impact of research.
Our researchers work across domains including, but not limited to, Economic Growth and Development; Energy, Natural Resources and Sustainability; and Foreign Policy and Security. All our research and policy recommendations are freely available to the public.
CSEP is based in New Delhi and registered as a company limited by shares and not for profit, under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 1956. It was earlier known as Brookings Institution India Center.
Key responsibilities include:
- Quick grasp of the problem and ability to find answers
- General understanding of data availability
- Attending webinars/seminars and meetings, taking speaker notes/minutes, drafting presentations, and managing specific engagements
- Keen awareness of important macro developments, both domestic and external
