Job Opportunity for Research Analyst – Health and Human Development at CSEP in New Delhi

The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) is seeking to expand its team researching on health and human development. We are looking to hire a social scientist or economist as Research Analyst (post-graduate with 2 years of experience) with interest in researching health systems. We are looking for candidates who have an understanding of the health sector, its institutions, and have some research experience, knowledge of data sources and are able to conduct both qualitative and quantitative analysis.

About CSEP

The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) conducts independent, in-depth, and policy-relevant research, and provides evidence-based recommendations to the challenges facing India and the world. It draws on the expertise of its researchers, extensive interactions with policy makers as well as convening power to enhance the impact of research. Our researchers work across the domains of Economic Growth and Development including Health, Urbanization; Energy, Natural Resources, Climate change and Sustainability; and Foreign Policy and Security. All our research and policy recommendations are freely available to the public.

CSEP is based in New Delhi and registered as a company limited by shares and not for profit, under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 1956 (now Section 8 of Companies Act, 2013).

Key Requisites

The Research Analyst would ideally be a Postgraduate in the social sciences or economics from a recognized institution with experience and interest in empirical and policy-oriented research. The candidate should have the ability to work on topics related to health and nutrition. Expertise required would include both qualitative and quantitative research, experience of handling large datasets, and skills to conduct policy analysis and data/statistical analysis.

Responsibilities include

The Research Analyst is expected to support the conceptualisation of research studies, and complete reasonably defined analysis in discussion with the senior researchers. This might require reviewing literature systematically, working with large data sets, data analysis, and interaction with diverse stakeholders within and outside of government. The selected candidate should be able to work with a team and play a key role in managing, and organising activities and webinars.

The candidate would need to have good verbal and presentation skills. The selected candidate is expected to help with publications, hosting webinars and other discussions and convenings at CSEP.
