Job Opportunity for Research Analyst/Research Associate for Book Research at CSEP in Delhi

CSEP is looking to hire a Research Analyst/Research Associate to help with the research and writing of an upcoming CSEP book. The chosen candidate will be expected to help with the research and development of the book. The candidate will get the unique opportunity to work on an exciting and relevant book in association with the author Vikram Singh Mehta, Chairman and Distinguished Fellow, CSEP.  

About CSEP 

The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) conducts in-depth, policy relevant research and provides evidence-based recommendations to the challenges facing India and the world. It draws on the expertise of its researchers, extensive interactions with policy makers as well as convening power to enhance the impact of research. 

Our researchers work across domains including, but not limited to, Economic Growth and Development; Energy, Natural Resources and Sustainability; and Foreign Policy and Security. All our research and policy recommendations are freely available to the public.

Key expectations: 

  • Providing research support in areas including but not limited to energy and public policy 
  • Collating and summarising previous articles by the author, putting together a broad survey of published literature in relevant areas, and finding information for specific questions, as they arise 
  • Cataloguing and maintaining all research material collected for the book in an efficient and organised manner 
  • Assisting with conducting relevant interviews for the book, including transcribing and record keeping as needed 
  • Consultation with archives/libraries of specialised institutes. This may involve some travel 

Qualifications:  

  • Master’s degree in English literature, biochemistry, chemistry, biology, environmental studies or any other field relevant to the energy sector 
  • Strong English language skills as well as familiarity with editing and copyediting 
  • Past work experience with journals, publishing houses, research institutions is preferred 
  • Ability to catalogue, organise and maintain accurate records
