Job Description

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad intends to hire a candidate with a postgraduate degree in economics and a solid quantitative background as full-time Research Assistant/Associate. Applicants must have a strong foundation in the core elements of economic theory, and also have in-depth knowledge of econometric methods along with their applications in business or policy contexts. The Research Assistant/Associate will have research responsibilities including, but not limited to: survey design and administration, data cleaning and processing, literature reviews, quantitative data analysis, drafting and editing of reports, and project administration related activities. Prior work experience as a research assistant is desirable but not mandatory.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Applicants must have a master’s degree in economics or an equivalent program with significant coursework/concentration in econometrics.
• Prospective candidates must have taken and achieved good grades in undergraduate as well as postgraduate level courses in statistics, econometrics, and microeconomics.
• Expertise in Stata/R is required.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) are essential.
• Prior research assistantship experience in an academic institution will be a plus
