**Job Description: Research Associate – Remote Tutoring: Ganita Ganaka**

**About the Company:**
The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is a global research center dedicated to reducing poverty by ensuring policy decisions are informed by scientific evidence. J-PAL South Asia, based at the Institute for Financial Management and Research in India, leads J-PAL’s work in the region, conducting randomized evaluations and building partnerships for evidence-informed policymaking.
**Position:** Research Associate
**Sector:** Education
**Experience Required:**
– Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in economics, social sciences, public policy, education, or a related field.
– Previous experience in development research, particularly in the education sector, is preferred.
– Strong quantitative skills and fluency in English. Some conversational-level proficiency in Hindi/Kannada is advantageous.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– Designing survey questionnaires and conducting qualitative research.
– Managing teams for field operations, including recruitment, training, and supervision.
– Supervising data collection and entry to ensure quality.
– Coordinating with administrative and finance teams on contractual and payment tasks.
– Overseeing project implementation in accordance with research design.
– Ensuring compliance with IRB protocols and maintaining relationships with partner organizations.
**Desired Qualifications:**
– Excellent management, organizational, and communication skills.
– Flexibility, self-motivation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
– Demonstrated ability to handle high-level relationships with partner organizations.
– Knowledge of Stata or other data analysis software is preferred.
