**Job Description: Research Associate – Satat Jeevikoparjan Yojana (SJY) at J-PAL South Asia**

With over 1,000 researchers worldwide, J-PAL conducts randomized impact evaluations to address critical questions in poverty alleviation. The South Asia office, based at the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) in India, collaborates with partners across Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

**Position Overview:**
J-PAL South Asia seeks a Research Associate to support the Satat Jeevikoparjan Yojana (SJY) program. This role involves managing fieldwork, supervising teams, and conducting data analysis for a large-scale livelihoods program targeting ultra-poor households in Bihar.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– Manage field operations and supervise teams involved in data collection.
– Conduct qualitative research and process evaluations.
– Analyze data using tools like Stata and SurveyCTO.
– Collaborate with government partners to ensure project compliance and effectiveness.
– Engage in literature reviews, study design refinement, and report preparation.
**Desired Qualifications:**
– Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in economics, public policy, or related fields.
– 1+ years of relevant experience in development research, preferably in rural areas.
– Proficiency in Hindi and English.
– Strong organizational skills with experience in problem-solving and team management.
– Knowledge of RCTs and data analysis tools (Stata, SurveyCTO) is a plus.
