**Job Title:** Research Associate

**About the Company:**
The Misra Centre for Financial Markets and Economy (MCFME) at IIM Ahmedabad focuses on contemporary research in financial markets and the economy. It disseminates knowledge through seminars, conferences, and media outreach, managing key databases like the Business Inflation Expectation Survey (BIES) and the IIMA-SFarmsIndia Agri Land Price Index (ISALPI). The Centre conducts firm-level surveys to assess India’s economic landscape.
**Position Overview:**
The Research Associate will support research on Indian and global financial markets and the broader economy. Responsibilities include data collection, analytical report preparation, literature reviews, and assisting with academic and policy-oriented projects under faculty guidance.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– Collect and compile financial/economic data.
– Prepare analytical reports, summaries, and presentations.
– Conduct literature reviews.
– Assist in academic and policy research projects.
**Qualifications & Skills:**
– Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields from top institutions with outstanding academic performance.
– Alternatively, a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Data Science with at least one year of finance industry experience.
– Strong quantitative and analytical skills; knowledge of data analysis and econometric methods.
– Proficiency in software like STATA, R, or Python is desirable.
– Familiarity with financial/economic databases (e.g., Prowess, Compustat) is a plus.
– Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
– Demonstrated interest in academic research; candidates considering a PhD are encouraged.
**Tenure:** Full-time position for an initial term of one year, renewable based on performance.
**Compensation:** Remuneration aligned with qualifications and experience per IIM Ahmedabad norms.
