## Research Associate (Water Resources, Policy, and Governance)

WOTR has set up the WOTR Centre for Resilience Studies (W-CReS), a dedicated research wing that follows a transdisciplinary approach in applied research. W-CReS conducts research studies on policy, practice, and communities in natural resources development and management, placing ecosystems at the center. **About the Job**
W-CReS is currently engaged in various action research studies that involve technical, social, and policy assessments in the water sector. These studies prioritize stakeholder engagement with communities and focus on water resource development and management through an Ecosystem-based Approach.
We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with proven experience and expertise in conducting studies and developing scientific and academic writings in the water sector in English. The candidate will contribute to developing various research proposals and outputs as part of a team.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Design and execute research studies related to water resources with a multidisciplinary approach.
* Provide inputs in writing research proposals, research reports, articles, papers, and documents for donor requirements and other publications.
* Content creation/writing will include policy briefs, info-briefs, and other products such as blogs, workshops, training material/manuals, training, meeting reports, etc.
* Periodic field visits in Maharashtra and other states for data collection, contributing to training and workshops, etc.
* Take an active part in designing and conducting trainings, workshops, and conferences, as well as developing different products for these events.
**Required Skills and Experience**
* A Master’s degree in Water Resource Development or Management, Water Policy and Governance, Water Regulations, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Applied Hydrology, or Geology.
* At least 2 years of experience in writing scientific/technical reports, research articles, papers, etc.
* At least 3 independent (single or lead author) writings in terms of reports, papers, blogs, or articles.
* Familiarity with government programs and policies in the water sector in India.
* Fluency in English writing and speaking is a must. Communicating in Hindi, at least at a basic level, will be an added advantage.
* Familiarity with climate change and its impacts on water resources.
