About the Role

As one of the priority development verticals, we are working to develop sustainable energy driven solutions for Agriculture. Under the Agricultural vertical we have been working on specific value chains such as millets, rice, spice, tomato, potato and with agri cooling as a value chain cutting across all horticulture produce. SELCO seeks to develop sustainable energy solutions across agri commodity value chains in order to improve, diversifying farm incomes and reducing drudgery across agri processes and activities. Specifically, we are looking at technologies that bring about value among small marginal farmers and entrepreneurs, FPOs, FPC’s, SHG and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • To work closely with the Agri programmatic and implementation team to keep abreast of the programs being implemented in order to capture learnings in a timely manner. And to work with the data piece of the Agri knowledge wing to have stronge documentation.
  • To pitch and conceptualize research studies relevant to the organization and conduct them using appropriate research tools and techniques internally and through experts and Consultants.
  • To capture learnings through crisp documentation, develop interesting templates which will be relevant to a wide range of audience – on field partners, larger sectoral organizations, funders, global platforms etc.
  • To be thoroughly informed and have a finger on the pulse of the developments in the sector.
  • To travel to the field as and when required for research and documentation purposes.
  • Collation of learnings and research in larger documents which will be relevant for policy pitches, and proposals to governmental bodies for various programs.
  • Coordination with partner organizations, end users, field coordinators, consultants and myriad other stakeholders to gather qualitative and quantitative data and information for required pieces of documentation.
  • To coordinate with the other geography teams of SELCO and support them in developing and implementing programs to create cross learning platforms for the specified value chain.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in development sector and with domain knowledge of sustainable energy is preferred
  • With specific Interested in energy access, livelihood and ecosystem building
  • Experience in working with a large amount of content and data and developing user friendly documents.
  • Able to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint. Visual software skills such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and any statistical tool are desirable
