Job Opportunity for School Coach at Akanksha Foundation in Pune

Position Summary: As a School Coach at Akanksha, you will be an integral one to ensure the school leader is supported by the organization and is given the type of guidance/support s/he needs to set up and manage a school that works towards high achievement and achieves the defined objectives for all Akanksha Academies. The School Coach will drive improvements in school performance, build capacity in school leaders with a focus on instructional leadership and co-design and help implement network-wide priorities.

You will be reporting to the Senior Director of Schools (Pune) Specific responsibilities will include:

● Supports their School Leaders to create, implement, and meet the School Goals and Target Action Plan in alignment with the Network Goals and Priorities

➔ Activities could include:

• Meet with school leaders to analyze school data, plan adjustments, and monitor progress
• Visit schools with the leadership team to evaluate the school culture, assess the quality of classroom teaching and learning, review student data, and observe/coach the leadership team on key areas of growth
• Design and deliver trainings to school leaders and/or teachers
• Meet with instructional specialists and other network supports to analyze impact, review plans, adjust priorities, and monitor adjustments
• Supports their School Leaders to increase capacity in three key areas: instruction, operations, and people

➔ Activities could include all the above, plus

• Meet with the school leader to identify development areas and help design a growth plan; review the plan throughout the year
• Help connect the leader to learning opportunities aligned with their plan
• Provide development opportunities for the leader through trainings, coaching, modeling, and other similar activities

● Supports the design and implementation of network-wide priorities, including key projects such as

What you need for this role:

• Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience out of which 5 years should be in education sector
• Experience in building instructional practices and driving instructional excellence
• Have the experience of teaching children in a formal and or non-formal school
• Worked with a group of teachers to improve their instructional abilities
• Should have the experience of turning around or improving school’s academic performance
• Embody the organizational values and culture of rigor, relevance, relationships and reflection
• Positivity and solution-oriented attitude
• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks
