The Akanksha Foundation is a non-profit organisation with the mission “to build one of the most innovative school networks that empowers children from low-income communities to maximise their potential”. Akanksha currently serves 13,000 children and 4600 alumni, through its 26 schools in Pune, Mumbai & Nagpur Metropolitan Regions in partnership with the municipalities.

Overview of the team

The Communications team at Akanksha works with external stakeholders for PR and events and partners with internal teams to create the overall brand and Communications strategies for the organization. The team is also responsible for creating content to meet the organisation’s requirements.

Position summary

As the Senior Associate, Marketing and Communications, you will be responsible for planning and executing Akanksha’s social media strategy.

What your role will entail

• Developing and executing social media campaigns

• Measuring the success of campaigns using tools and analytics

• Creating and owning a content calendar for all social platforms

• Following best practices and optimising content for each social media platform

• Visiting schools to create relevant content

• Liaising with internal teams for information that can be shared on social media

• Supporting the Comms team in other efforts like events, website content, etc.

What you need for this position

Experience

2-4 years’ experience in handling social media for an organization
Demonstrated success in building strong and sustainable relationships
Experience in the education/development sector preferred

Knowledge/Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Thorough knowledge of social media best practices in content and operations
Creativity and an ability to generate new ideas
Strong organising and planning skills
Highly motivated, persevering, achievement-oriented attitude
Tenacity in seeking results and a high level of representational and negotiation skills.
Proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
