About the Organization

Established in 2007, the National Health Systems Resource Centre’s mandate is to assist in policy and strategy development in the provision and mobilization of technical assistance to the states and in capacity building for the Ministry of Health.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to undertake research activities under Knowledge Management Division (KMD).
  • Support the team in the preparation of technical documents, including reviews on Health Systems interventions and social determinants of health, including policy briefs and reports.
  • Support the division for coordinating inputs to Common Review Mission and National Summit on
  • Good & replicable innovations and practices – ensuring quality and timeliness of responses from states and respective programme divisions; and logistics.
  • Support the process of establishing cross references to existing and relevant websites and resource centres;
  • Support the IR-HSS platform on all administrative and technical matters
  • Support the states in designing and planning research proposals to strengthen health systems
  • Support the reporting authority/ Division head in undertaking the process of identifying and partnering with selected institutions to undertake research under IR-HSS
  • Ensure timely review of the projects under IR-HSS to provide an update to the reporting authority/ Division head on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for regular review of the projects with the partner institutions and provide inputs as required for revision and submission of reports
  • Ensure timely and high-quality responses to MoHFW and Parliament Questions pertaining to the division
  • Undertake analytical documentation of field review visits to provide feedback to the states.
  • Identify best practices and innovations within states and districts and support in documentation.
  • Undertake review of literature and keep the team up-to-date on current trends in health systems strengthening.
  • Provide periodic synopsis of progress in states using data and field findings as a means of technical support and programme oversight.
  • Undertake other assignments, which may be assigned from time to time by the Reporting Authority/ Division head
  • Responsible for creating platform for partners/stakeholders to share and create evidence-based knowledge, enabling the uptake of information to strengthen the health systems interventions.
  • Support the team in all activities as part of IR HSS and coordinate research priority setting workshops, setting annual research agenda and commissioning research.
  • Support and undertake the rapid reviews on Health Systems interventions and social determinants of health, including development of policy briefs and reports as required.
  • Support in activities pertaining to data collection, collation, analysis, and report writing in coordination with Implementation Research for Health Systems Strengthening (IR-HSS), KMD
  • Ensure timely review of the projects under IR-HSS to provide an update to the Executive Director/Advisor on a periodic basis. Responsible for regular review of the projects with the partner institutions and provide inputs to the Executive Director/Advisor as required for revision and submission of reports.
  • Support Executive Director/Advisor in other assignments as and when required

Education Qualification /Required Skills & Experience

  • MBBS/BDS with Post Graduate Degree (fulltime course) or higher qualification in Public Health, Community Health, Preventive and Social Medicines/Social Sciences in Health
  • Published work in the area of health systems or public health
  • Have at least 5 years of Post Qualification experience
  • Formal educational qualifications, experience and age could be relaxed for exceptional candidates
