**Job Description:**

 

Tanager is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Finance Manager to join our team in Lucknow, India. In this role, you will be responsible for all financial operations of the company, including budgeting, accounting, reporting, and compliance. You will provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, act as company secretary, and play a key role in strategic financial planning.

 

**Job Location:** Lucknow, India

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

* **Accounting Operations:** Lead, manage, and supervise the accounting team, review all transactions and financial reports, and ensure accuracy of financial records.

* **Coordination and Compliance:** Implement and oversee organization-wide accounting policies and procedures, establish project accounting management, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in India.

* **Audit and Taxation:** Lead annual country/project external audits, support corporate audits, and ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax laws.

* **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Assist program managers with accounting, audit, and legal compliance for community-based organizations, coordinate with the admin team on procurement, and support program team with proposal budget creation.

* **Budgeting:** Lead project budget analysis for incorporation into the Tanager corporate budget, collaborate with the program team for proposal budget development, and oversee budget monitoring and reporting.

* **Farris System Implementation:** Lead the redesign of accounting modules for the new PLC registration, design and manage Farris report development, and provide staff training.

* **Company Secretary Duties:** Develop and implement corporate governance policies, organize and manage quarterly board meetings, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations for for-profit companies.

* **Entity Closeout:** Manage efficient closeout process of non-active business entities within specified deadlines, ensuring proper documentation and filing of all closeout-related returns.

 

**Required Qualifications:**

 

* Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution. Master’s degree preferred.

* Professional accreditation such as Chartered Certified Accountant (CCA), Certified International Management Accountant (CIMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Expert Comptable (EC), or other recognized high-level national accounting professional certification.

* Minimum 10 years of experience in financial management and reporting in progressively more responsible roles.

* Experience with international NGOs is highly preferred.

 

**Required Skills:**

 

* Proficiency in accounting software.

* IFRS Certification and knowledge of Corporate Law & FCRA preferred.

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Access, SharePoint.

* Strong communication and analytical skills, including the ability to gather and analyze information, develop recommendations, and present findings.

* Solid knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and technical skills.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

* Ability to work effectively in a team, manage stress and pressure, and willingness to travel as needed.

* Good command of English and Hindi.
