## Senior Manager – Capacity Building

**About India Climate Collaborative (ICC)**

The India Climate Collaborative (ICC) is a dynamic organization established in 2020 with a mission to support Indian philanthropists in scaling corporate and family philanthropy for climate impact. Founded by some of India’s leading corporate and philanthropic figures, including Rohini Nilekani, Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra, and Nadir Godrej, the ICC is a collaborative force driving change in India’s climate landscape.

We are a small but impactful team, united by our passion for achieving ambitious goals.  We value self-starters who are dedicated, detail-oriented, and prioritize teamwork.

**About This Role**

The ICC is partnering on an initiative to strengthen India’s robust Civil Society Organizations (CSO) ecosystem.  While CSOS primarily focus on social development, they indirectly address the adverse effects of climate change on local communities.  This initiative aims to support these local actors by incorporating them into the climate domain, equipping them with climate expertise, building institutional resilience, and strengthening regional climate action across India.

As the **Senior Manager – Capacity Building**, you will play a pivotal role in designing and supporting the climate capacity-building aspects of this initiative. This includes:

* Contributing to the development of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks.

* Coordinating with enlisted partners and key stakeholders.

* Ensuring robust implementation and delivery of capacity-building programs.

This opportunity offers you the chance to shape the program’s direction and significantly impact India’s evolving climate ecosystem. The ideal candidate will possess both strategic vision and a strong aptitude for meticulous planning and structured implementation.

**Responsibilities**

* Design and manage the capacity building pillar of the program.

* Conduct assessments of climate capacity gaps and needs of local NGOs nationwide.

* Develop a comprehensive capacity building framework based on identified climate topics, encompassing:

    * Acquisition of technical climate skills.

    * Communication of climate impacts of NGO work to diverse stakeholders.

* Organize and present data and information for strategic and operational decision-making by internal and external stakeholders.

* Support the development of indicators, frameworks, and processes for MEL and impact tracking.

* Collaborate with implementation partners to ensure program alignment and deliver and track defined climate outputs and outcomes.

* Facilitate effective, efficient, and robust program delivery through coordination with program partners, implementation partners, and grantees.

**Requirements**

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social science, climate science, economics, international development, public policy, or a related field.

* 10+ years of relevant work experience in non-profit organizations, climate consulting, policy research, or field-based implementation organizations.

* Strong understanding of climate sectors and themes, including agriculture, water, renewable energy, livelihoods, land use, and urban sustainability.

* Experience developing or implementing capacity building/training programs and curricula is highly desirable.

* Prior experience with monitoring and evaluation systems and processes is preferred.

* Experience building or managing NGO networks is a plus.

* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to de-jargonize and effectively communicate climate science, skills, and knowledge to NGOs.

* Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience managing external stakeholders.

* Ability to think strategically and creatively, meet tight deadlines, work independently, and collaborate effectively.

**What We Offer**

* The opportunity to work alongside leading minds on climate change in philanthropy, research institutions, government, and implementing organizations, playing a vital role in India’s climate movement.

* Growth and exposure within a rapidly expanding start-up organization with a young, dedicated team committed to professional development.

* The chance to establish best practices, develop ICC traditions, and contribute to building the organizational experience.

* A competitive salary based on industry standards.

**Terms of Employment**

* **Location:** Mumbai (Preferred) or Remote

* **Employment Type:** Consultant
