Job Description and Responsibilities
The Senior Manager – Content and Curriculum will work with the Chief Programs Officer to ensure Teacher Professional development goals are achieved in the SALT Project.
Additionally, they will collaborate with the members across teams as and when required as well as be an integral part of the organisational leadership and drive learning across teams.
Content Design and Production (50%)
• Create a strategic plan to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s teacher professional development.
• Design processes, rubrics, and checklists for the content team to create high-quality outputs based on industry standards and evidence-based practices while adhering to strict timelines
• Advise on and oversee the design of training materials, scripts, storyboards, course outlines, structured lesson plans, and other auxiliary training-related aspects.
• Advise on and oversee the design of project plans, pre and post-tests, training assessments, monitoring mechanisms, and guidelines to enable smooth implementation.
• Visit training sites, classrooms, and other offices across districts to oversee implementation and use the observation data to tweak subsequent plans.
• Coordinate with other teams and operations counterparts to ensure smooth implementation.
• Compile training completion and impact reports in digital and print formats that are widely consumable.
Team Management (20%)
• Manage a team of 2-3 Managers and 4-8 Associates across content and training functions, focusing on their deliverables and professional support and development.
• Design and lead team structures to sustain a culture of collaboration, belief in public systems, strong accountability, and timely project delivery
• Assist the organization in the recruitment and selection of team members Stakeholder Management (15%)
• Consistently engage with senior leadership of the state and SCERT to enable a continued partnership with the state and increased buy-in for the program.
• Submit timely donor reports to keep the funders informed and updated at regular intervals.
• Find and maintain relevant partnerships to support work done by the organization and foster collaboration in the sector, including other agencies, as part of the SALT project. Vendor Management (15%)
• Work with vendors to oversee aspects of content production, such as delivery of animation, recordings, translation, etc.
• Work with platform partners to ensure smooth hosting and data retrieval of course consumption.
• Manage timelines and reviews with vendors and the internal team
• Coordinate with a finance team and the organizational leadership to ensure contracts are in place and payments and invoicing occur as per timelines Requirements Education & Experience
• Degree in education/teacher development or related discipline. MPhil/PhD preferred, Masters’ degree mandatory
• 7-10 Years of experience leading large-scale training programs, preferably with the government or with government school teachers
• Should have led at least 1-2 projects in the government education sector at the State/district level
• Proven experience in instructional design, project management, and training course creation and management Important: Given the nature of the project, please apply only if you qualify based on the above requirements Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and one regional language. Working knowledge of Telugu would be helpful.
• Being able to take the initiative and work in an autonomous, semi-structured environment
• Belief in the potential of the public sector and that government systems can and will change toward overcoming systemic inequities and ensuring improved outcomes for all citizens
• Certification or strong understanding of instructional design for professional development courses and curriculum design
• Working experience or knowledge of public policy implementation would be highly preferred.
• A basic understanding of social equity, development discourse, and education policy in India
• Adaptability to changing responsibilities and resourcefulness to respond to them
• High openness to learning
• Ability to influence people, take initiatives, and build and sustain relationships with multiple stakeholders & partners across public and private spaces
• Strong ability to create outstanding presentations work with Microsoft Excel & Google Suite
• Patience and resilience to stick it out in the face of setbacks and uncertainties
Location and Compensation Location:
Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh Compensation: In addition to being part of a young and dynamic learning team, the individual will receive healthy compensation at par with the non-profit sector benchmark for this position, commensurate with the individual’s prior experience and qualifications. The current compensation band offered, based on fit and experience, is 12-14 lakh INR per annum CTC.
