Medhavi Skills University (Sikkim) has been established with the passage of the Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim Act 2021 in the Sikkim State Legislative Assembly on 29th June 2021. MSU aspires to establish a pioneering university model where corporates/ industries shall be the stakeholders and influencers in course curriculum design, program delivery, practical skills training, as well as, for providing on-the-job apprenticeship, with the following mission and vision.

Overview of the role:

The individual will be responsible for the development of brand/ marketing collateral for internal and external communications and market strategies of the programs offered under Medhavi umbrella. Extensive liaise with media and stakeholders to help the brand gain exposure in local, national, and international acquaintances.


1. Overall responsibility to drive the digital media and marketing via various strategies to promote the University brand and lead the prospective students sourcing.

2. Additionally responsible for driving the brand communication strategy for the University which includes coordinating with agencies for the creation of branding collaterals, website etc.

3. Targeting specific channels for promotion, including pay-per-click advertising, social media platforms, emails, website content and SEO strategies

4. Analysing market data, trends, consumer preferences, and competitor behaviour to optimise marketing strategies

5. Determining which platforms to advertise on and adapting campaigns accordingly.

6. Contributes to marketing strategy by leveraging social media to identify and acquire customers.

7. Obtains market share by developing social media marketing plans and programs for each centre and directing promotional support.

8. Provides short- and long-term market forecasts and reports by directing market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data

9. Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies for overall marketing and promotion of Medhavi Skills University.

10. Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals and build a social media presence by maintaining a solid online presence.

Key Competencies:

1. Have an excellent understanding of marketing tools and techniques to increase the visibility, profile and reputation of an organisation.

2. Have a good understanding of social media and the impact technology is having on communications and collaboration.

3. A strategic and creative thinker with proven experience of working on diverse and wide-ranging communication strategies including all forms of media.

4. The ability to build and maintain highly effective working relationships with a range of people (both internally and externally).

5. Experience of representing an organisation at external events.

Superior written and verbal communications skills

Desired Candidate Profile:

1. Masters’ Degree preferably in Marketing, Media, Communications or Journalism from an Indian 2. University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

3. Minimum of 4 years of experience in the Marketing sector.

4. Experience in development, managing of products, brand websites, and project management skills is an added advantage.

5. Familiarity or experience working with CRM software is an asset

6. Hands-on Practice and Application Skills on recent Industry trends and technology are a must.
