**Job Location:** Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India

**Experience Required:** Minimum 10 years of experience in the development sector with a minimum of 5 years of experience in leading FPO-related programs.

**Job Description:**

AKRSP(I) has promoted over 40 Farmer Producers Companies (FPOs) with over 40,000 smallholders as shareholders across four states: Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Maharashtra. These FPOs are connecting smallholder farmers with remunerative markets and developing value chains for various agricultural commodities.

This position requires a strong leader to guide the FPO program of the organization and develop a strategic direction to transform FPOs into economically vibrant institutions, particularly for the benefit of smallholder women farmers. 

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Provide overall leadership to the FPO program.

* Develop and guide implementation of the strategic plan for the FPO program.

* Capacity building of field teams to ensure FPOs become vibrant, farmer-owned institutions.

* Lead market linkages for major commodities available with the FPOs, focusing on bulk marketing at large volume.

* Lead financial linkages of the FPOs.

* Manage projects, including liaison with donors funding the FPO programs.

* Mobilize resources for the FPO program.

* Manage and mentor the FPO team.

* Lead the digitization of FPO operations.

* Develop MIS systems for monitoring daily progress of FPO businesses.

* Build relationships with government departments, think tanks, donors, and market players.

**Skills & Competencies:**

* Deep understanding of institution building processes for farmers’ collectives.

* Expertise in the compliances, policies, and funding environment around FPOs.

* Strong strategic planning and implementation skills.

* Experience in marketing linkages, particularly for commodity marketing (cotton, groundnut, pulses, millets, etc.).

* Proven team management skills.

* Strong project management and financial management abilities.

* Excellent liaison and relationship building skills.

* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
