**Job Title:** Senior Manager – Green Economy

**About Development Alternatives:** Development Alternatives (DA) is a non-profit organization that has been promoting a green economy through narrative building, policy support, and technological advancements since 1982.  DA’s approach is holistic, recognizing the interconnectedness of climate change, ecosystem restoration, inclusive entrepreneurship, resource efficiency, and circular economy.  Their work spans policy interventions, capacity building, and the facilitation of sustainable enterprises, particularly those led by women.

 

**Job Location:** New Delhi, India

 

**Job Type:** Contract

 

**Experience Required:** 8-10 years of experience (with a Master’s degree) or 10-12 years (with a Bachelor’s degree) in developing and managing programs focused on green economy, enterprise development, and livelihood security interventions.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* **Programmatic Leadership:** Develop and manage programs related to green economy, green entrepreneurship, community and women-led enterprises, sustainable/blended/micro-financing at subnational and national levels. This includes financial, contractual, and team management to ensure effective project execution, business development, resource mobilization, and partnership building.  Manage client communication and foster inter- and intra-domain synergies within DA.

* **Technical Leadership:** Conceptualize policy research, develop tools/frameworks, and create knowledge products aligned with programmatic priorities.  Design policy and regulatory recommendations for various actors (governments, financial institutions, etc.) on industrial decarbonization, climate adaptation financing, green entrepreneurship, and skill development. Position DA as a knowledge expert through publications and other knowledge dissemination activities.

* **Networking and Positioning:** Build and manage relationships with government departments, financial stakeholders (including SIDBI/NABARD, SLBC, NABARD), and other relevant entities.  Develop partnerships with private and public sector organizations.  Promote DA’s work at national and international platforms.

 

 

**Qualifications:**

 

* Post Graduation (Master’s degree preferred)

* Minimum 8-10 years (with a Master’s degree) or 10-12 years (with a Bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience.

* Demonstrated experience in developing and managing partnerships with government and civil society networks. Experience with relevant Ministries or State Governments is advantageous.

* Experience collaborating with financial institutions (SIDBI/NABARD, SRLMs, SLBC, etc.) to support women-led enterprises and green entrepreneurs. Experience with social impact investors or incubators is a plus.

* Proven experience in resource mobilization and project management, including financial planning and donor reporting.

 

 

**Skills and Competencies:**

 

* Leadership and problem-solving skills.

* Strong understanding of green economy programs, climate financing frameworks, and regulations.

* Excellent research, documentation, and report writing skills; data visualization skills are a plus.

* Strong communication and networking abilities.

* Proficiency in MS Office Suite and online collaboration tools.

* Fluency in English and Hindi.

* Willingness to travel as needed.
