Job Description: 

SBI Foundation was launched in 2015 by the State Bank of India to carry out its CSR activities as well as those of its subsidiaries. In this context, SBI Foundation is hiring a Senior Manager – Programme Development who will be responsible for the development of initiatives in alignment with SBI Foundation’s strategy and for the quality of programmes all along the project cycle. 

Qualifications :

Master’s degree in development studies, public policy, business administration or management, social sciences, or related area along with a minimum of 3 years of qualifying experience in programme development/ CSR sector.

Or a bachelor’s degree in combination with a minimum of 5 years of qualifying experience in the CSR sector may be accepted in lieu of the master’s degree.

Key Responsibilities: 

Under the direct supervision and reporting to President & COO and overall guidance of the Management at SBI Foundation, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties & responsibilities:

 • Designing/developing new programmes, monitoring implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes, etc.

 • Articulating problems and issues to be addressed in the programme structure/implementation and proposing options for corrective actions based on best practice and in line with existing standards and guidance; liaison with relevant parties to identify and initiate follow-up actions

• Providing substantive support to the President & COO for high-level meetings to include proposing agenda topics, identifying participants, preparation of documents, presentations, and reports, etc.

 • Evaluation of project proposals using scoring matrix and Shortlisting implementation agencies.

 • Defining/Refining project structure, targets, implementation plan Budget of shortlisted agencies

• Due Diligence, KYC for existing partners, Audits, Site visits etc. of Shortlisted and existing partners & create a final shortlist

 • Project evaluation report and final proposals to be presented to appropriate committee/Board

• Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on programmes undertaken by SBI Foundation, including reporting to partners/funders

• Ensuring adequate and accurate reporting, timely updates and briefings to funders and the Management of the SBI Foundation

• Ensuring that project plans or proposals submitted to SBI Foundation for funding adhere to accepted standards, are based on a comprehensive strategy and meet the needs of vulnerable persons

• Final communication to selected agencies and grant agreement with agencies

• Monitor and guide the team members of his/her team.

• Contributing to the effective programme implementation and achievement of outcomes, and ensuring proper use of financial and other resources for the activities outlined in programme goals and in line with the budget available

 • Identifying, collecting, and disseminating best practices and lessons learned from the programme and initiatives undertaken at SBI Foundation

• Preparing written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc.

• Organising seminars/ roundtables/ workshops for national experts addressing sustainable development issues

 • Providing all the necessary documents, and information during Internal Audit/Statutory Audit

 • Ensuring coordination and facilitating knowledge sharing between the programme, partners and the programme beneficiaries.

• Ensuring accurate and timely contributions to the budget preparation and budget performance reports as required

• Developing proposals to mobilise resources from funders to advance the goals of SBI Foundation, liaises with funders

• Serving as an effective representative and supporting collaborations and partnerships with key officials at all levels inside and outside SBI Foundation

• Perform any other task/role assigned by the Management of the SBI Foundation.

Key Responsibility Areas will also include:

1. Budget Achievement

• Meeting budget targets through the year by conceptualising innovative programs in the field of healthcare and other assigned fields whenever required.

 • Undertaking programs as per the budget allocated to the position/team

 2. Programme Management and Delivery

• Participate with NGOs/Implementation agencies closely in program delivery

 • Ensure that programs meet objectives, timelines are adhered to and beneficiary experience is of high quality

• Effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, including NGOs, partner teams, beneficiaries, etc.

• Establish a clear understanding of program expectations including on timelines, quality check measures, etc.

• Manage expectations, align and push back as program requirements demand (do this on multiple programs at a time)

 3. Monitoring and Evaluation

• Monitor programs regularly by conducting site visits to ensure timely achievement/delivery of targets/results

• Evaluate the data provided/gathered from NGOs/onsite to track the progress of the program.

• Estimate the probability of success/failure and take necessary steps to meet the desired outputs

 • Undertake/initiate impact assessment by yourself or with help of an external agency to judge the success of the programs and devise a future course of action

4. Promotion and Branding

• To develop promotional material like pictures/posters/quotes etc. from the programs and share with the Media and communications team of SBIF to ensure programs get the required publicity

• To write/provide case stories from the programs for use on social media and websites
